It's been happening. Where we share common ground we ally ourselves, where we don't then we differ. If it were only Atheists and Agnostics opposing creationism or prayer in public schools, for instance, then we'd have creationism and prayer in public schools. It is because these religious attacks on secularism also offend Jews, Catholics, and more liberal Christians that church and state remain as distinct as they do. Lets go further- there are also conservative Christians who don't want to see church and state intertwined. We must side with everyone who agrees with us when they agree with us. Common ground is a nice place to visit.

They already do a lot of the time. I'm a liberal/progressive Christian and I don't like to make politics about religion, but I know it happens. We should join together not based on religion, but based on the fact that we are all Americans, we should fight for the ideals this country is supposed to represent.
And we do speak up about them, it's just that the evangelicals drown us out a lot.

Absolutely. I am sure that the liberal/progressive Christians are as against their hardcore fundamentalist views as much as I am. In fact, I believe that should be extended to the liberal/progressives of every religion. Fundamentalism is a plague of the mind, and it must be stopped before it destroys us.

In my opinion, "liberal/progressive Christians" are a little confused. I don't hold it against them - at least they're starting to see the light. At least they're intellectually, morally and spiritually superior to the "fundies." But there's a disconnect somewhere. They're still clinging to the nomenclature of a religion that has stood against progress for the entire span of its existence, because its power and wealth depends upon maintaining the popular ignorance. And unfortunately, they're inadvertently legitimizing the fundie brands of the religion by association.

i think of you're possibly attempting to get onto the main important web site with an intense sort of stars. I doubt which will take place... in spite of the incontrovertible fact that it incredibly is properly worth a shot. i'm happy we are able to all unite for a in basic terms reason.

And pagans, buddhists, everyone. Interfaith humanism will help our society a lot. There are only a small percentage of true nuts in the religious world.

Sorry, no way. Much of the liberal agenda is just as unreasoned as the Evangelical nonsense. I see the progressive ideas on the "Democratization of wealth" as extremely foolish.
