I don't think it should be banned but I think people need to learn about the bottled water industry. I know it's very hard to make people do anything, but if they realize that it might contribute significantly to landfills, they might stop.

I don't mind tap water at all. But I'm basically a tea lover.

I saw that on the news last night too, and I must say I agree to some extent. I'm always in favor of personal freedoms, but I think with just a little education and positive peer pressure, people will start drinking tap water out of re-usable water bottles, I buy a few bottles of water for car trips, and sometimes afer a day of shopping, I dont' want anything but a 20 oz. bottle of water. So no, I dont' think they should be banned. But in situations where coolers and cups can be used, it should be heartily encouraged.

I've never understood the fascination with bottled water. Unless you live in an area where the tap water is unsafe to drink (this is rare, but there are a few cities out there who have unsafe drinking water), why not drink it from the tap? It's a hell of a lot cheaper than bottled and it actually contains flouride--something that bottled water does not.

The key to the complaint is water is already paid for when it comes out of the tap. And then not only paid for it again but all those water bottles go into land fills and take forever to decompose. and undoubtly give off toxic gas while their doing it. Soft drink bottles are recycled, (Generally , except for those thrown out on the road ways )

I think the ban is geared more towards restaurants serving bottled water when they have the option to just serve tap. Obviously, they won't ban convenient stores from selling bottled water. One thing that I think would help with this issue is to stop making the itty bitty bottles, what's the point?

i watched that video on the homepage too this morning...it does seem a bit silly in a nation of overweight people that some folks want to ban water bottles....There are so many other things they could be worried about in regards to the environment than water bottles.

we shouldn't ban any of it, it would screw up too many businesses that rely on it for money. it would be better if the companies started making the bottles out of biodegradable plastics and other materials.
i agree with a lot of your points.
