It has been the experience of some that when prayed over for the healing (physical, emotional or otherwise) of the Holy Spirit, that they experience a "resting in the Spirit". Some refer to it as "being slain in the Spirit". I have personally experienced this, only once. It was very peaceful. For me, I needed courage in my life to move forward in my state of life. (I was fearful of seriously approaching marriage). All that I can say that after a few minutes, I had the conviction that marriage was God's will for my life. Today I have a family. You always judge things spiritually by the fruit.
I have also had the experience once of praying for someone who as soon as I placed my hand on their head to pray, they "rested in the Spirit". I hope that this helps.

Healing comes from faith. In the Bible, you never read that Jesus said he could not heal someone because it was not the Father's will for them to be healed. Of Course NOT! Because God wills for us all to be healed. The two that Jesus said had great faith were Gentiles and were not under the law, probably did not know about the law. All they knew was that Jesus could heal them (or their loved ones as the case may have been). And they were not going to let anything stand in their way.
Many times when people get healed or delivered, the Holy Spirit will overwhelm them and they will fall out or "get slain in the Spirit." Baptists do not understand or condone this even slightly. But even they can get hit with the power of the Holy Spirit, or get baptised in the Spirit. That is what happened at our church they were Southern Baptist, and now the whole church is Non-denominational, meaning they just serve God. They are not bound by the laws of man, and they do not hinder the Holy Spirit. Yet they do follow the laws of the land because that is a commandment.
One other thing...Not all Southerners are the epitomy of Christianity, and not all Christians are hateful, racist, extremists. Extremity is not the way of Jesus. Jesus was a balanced man, and as Chrisitans, we should be balanced. I believe a true Christian would know that hatred and racism are not right, and anyone who has truly been born again, has the spirit of joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, gentleness, self-control, and so on living in them.

As one who has an inside view, two words..PURE FAKERY.There was a time when I tried to believe.Really, really tried.I had a real bum knee, and during a call like you described,I went up.I was VERY sincere.Turns out they are simply faking.I didn't feel cured, but the guy in the back isn't there to "catch" you.He is there to "pull" you down if you don't go along with the drama.I(shamefully)didn't cuss them out as would have been proper. But I learned it is total fakery and peer pressure. To those who say That healing is not scripturally supported,You are off your rocker. It is SOOOO scripturally supported.Do you lie on purpose because it doesn't happen? How dare you say healing is NOT supported by scripture! It is,and there is no healing happening. Please don't make your religion MORE stupid by saying the Bible doesn't support "taking the sick to the elders, annointing with oil,and laying on of hands"Its in the bible,in context. It is simply a lie, though. No need to compound that lie by adding another lie(scripture doesn't support healing)Face it,your holy book is a book of lies

I'd be scared to go back there again!
at this point in time, our heavenly father doesn't give blessings of healing as He did when the apostles were alive.
good questions:
why WOULD someone fall down if such a miracle happened?
what's the meaning of all that shaking??
why were just those few "healed" when so much sickness/illness is everywhere else in the world?
does this pastor "heal" the sick ones that j
he passes on the street? in wal-mart? in grocery stores?at the park? and surely he sees sick children, infirm elderly ones, sick family members, etc so what's the deal here???
just be very careful at where you put your faith

well there is a thing called slain in the Spirit this is when the Holy Spirit comes over you it does not hurt and you feel such a great peace. this is a great question did get understand we should ask question, but as I am sure you will here there are pretenders who do this because they feel they are expected to, put when it truly happens you won't even realize what had happened until it was over. Yes by Jesus stripes we are healed.

It is often called being "slain in the spirit" all though it could be called "resting in the Spirit".
It is a normal thing. Read about people who have had healing ministries in the past, like Oral Roberts, Katherine Coleman, AA Alain and others.
I am glad that your pastor is apparently doing something new according to scriptures, and that God is moving. Praise the Lord!

It's called being "slain in the spirit." The spirit of God sweeps over these people and they fall down. It's a beautiful thing. It hasn't happened to me although I've felt "heat" go through my head once.

A false religious spirit. It is what they have been conditioned to believe they should do. Either that or demonic possession. No where will you find such antics in the scripture concerning the miraculous healing. If it isn't scriptural its suspect.
