I mean what is nature? When something is natural then is it something that happens automatically, without any help? How can you not believe that there is some hidden force behind all that we see in the world that is 'natural'? Is nature not the hidden force? Would you agree that 'believers' equate this same force to God or The Creator? As a free-thinking human being, I cannot comprehend that things can happen by themselves. How do you explain them? I would appreciate constructive comments, and no bashing of others' belief systems. Thanks to all.

Oh my God! Thank you all so much for replying. A couple of comments to add here...
Annamichele9- you said..."Also how can you believe that God has just existed for all eternity. I mean there is a beginning to everything. Something cannot of just existed." - Read your comment again! You clearly believe that there is a beginning to everything, yet you cannot believe that something has just existed.
I think thats our problem in this day and age, we want to know everything about everything. The fact that it is simply incomprehensible is not enough.
There are also many conflicting answers. Some people are saying that nature just exists so let it be and others are bringing evolution into the answer. I'm not denying evolution, I am simply saying that, I agree with Annamichele9, that everything has to start from somewhere, and that somewhere is what we call God. We cannot explain what God is except from the devine scriptures, as He has described Himself.

Faith is when you believe in something without any proof. Otherwise it is simply belief. I have Faith in God as my Creator and my Sustainer, everything comes from Him and everything must one day return to Him. There no deity but God, Himself.
If one can simply believe this then they will be successful in this life and the next.
Thank you for reading and keep those comments coming.

Felicity O / old school / reelperspective / oxyman reloaded / Joseph / Madeleine Bassett / - you said that creationists believe that everything came from God but they cannot explain where God came from. Tell me, if you knew that God came from 'X' then would you want to know where 'X' came from? Then if you were told that 'X' came from 'Y' would you not then ask where 'Y' came from? We could go on for hours! Then you would ask that it has all got to start from somewhere?! And that is where I would be happy to rest with GOD.

I explain nature through evolution. Believers do not equate nature with god, they equate the existent of nature through god. That's different. Nature and natural have slightly different meanings. Nature I take to mean wild life and plant life. Saying something is natural is saying it is common place and regularly happens has part of a natural world.
I have a hard time comprehending the vastness of space. Doesn't mean it isn't true.

Everything in life, everything that you are, see and touch are made of molecules, just different types and combinations. I believe in the facts that are given, you on the other hand are unable to comprehend that that such amazing things can happen by themselves given the right conditions and therefore have to believe that a God had to have created it! If you can't understand something - God did it. If something bad happens - God did it. If something good happens - God did it. What a cop out!

There doesn't seem to be an intelligence behind "nature" or a single unified force either. If you look closely at nature, it's a uneasy balance of conflicts and balance is achieved only through as a result. I don't see a "hidden force", but an immense web of inter twinned dependencies. This does not indicate to me that a deity or deities exist.

the amount of ignorance and lack of education/understanding that prompted you to word the question this way is amazing.
nature
-noun
1.the material world, esp. as surrounding humankind and existing independently of human activities.
2.the natural world as it exists without human beings or civilization.
3.the elements of the natural world, as mountains, trees, animals, or rivers.
4.natural scenery.
5.the universe, with all its phenomena.
6.the sum total of the forces at work throughout the universe.
"When something is natural then is it something that happens automatically,"
No, in the big bang the parameters for this universe were set. We can model these as constants, natural laws and the like.
Our current understanding of nature doesn't need some 'unseen/hidden force' behind it all.
"Would you agree that 'believers' equate this same force to God or The Creator?"
No, I'm pretty sure most believers have some anthropomorphic god in mind.

As a free thinking human being, I cannot use my lack of comprehension to justify making up stories.
How can I not believe in a hidden force? Because it doesn't make sense to believe in this force. The universe goes around doing its thing and it doesn't care about us humans.
If you drop something, it falls. Its called gravity and it doesn't need help.

Living organisms act according to two drives--sustain life and reproduce. Plants want sunlight and water to live and create new plants. Animals want food and water to live and create new animals. The hidden forces are not hidden at all; they are the survival instinct and the reproductive instinct. I do not know of a hidden supernatural force behind the natural world. Please give me some evidence for this force.

Questions like this really annoy me.
The plain truth is that no one knows where we came from.
The creationists think that God created us, but they don't ask where God came from.
Scientists say it was a 'big bang', an explosion of gasses or whatever. They can't explain where the gasses came from.

Which God? Why in basic terms one? that is invalid scientifically on account which you are able to not clarify complexity with a good greater complicated orignator. It defeats the purpose. If complexity is indication that it could desire to have been created, that is in trouble-free terms logical that the much greater complicated author could desire to have a author (advert infinitum). you might have self belief it in case you like. despite the fact that that is logically and scientifically comparable to believing in unicorns. perchance sometime that is going to shown suitable, yet suitable now it has an identical consistency of believing in unicorns. that's all. *edit* Sorry, I forgot. the genuine reason that is invalid scientifically is because of the fact that is untestable. I ought to have suggested logically as quickly as I suggested scientifically.
