"They" say you should read the bible everyday. Does this time account for practicing the Bible?

There is absolutely a difference in memorizing the Bible and practicing it. A person can memorize traffic laws, but unless he/she abides by them it really means nothing. The Bible is here for us to learn and to live as God wants us to. I guess it probably falls under, "Practice what you preach."

Yes. There is a difference between memorizing the Bible and practicing it. However a person who sincerely takes the time to read it everyday is more likely to practice it than someone who wont take the time to read it.

With so much to interpret, they should just do what Jesus told them to do anyway. Love others - judge them not. We are all having the human experience and none of us is better or worse than another. The rest is up to them to read so that they can employ certain ideas in their own lives to avoid sin. It is neither possible nor wise to try to impose these upon others. Live through example, not through words, even if the words come from the Bible. Remember, Christians: you worship God, not a book.

Reading the Bible is necessary and is part of practicing it, but we are to do what it says and not be hearers only.

Jesus was angry with some Pharisees because they had a form or righteousness (they did things) but they lacked a relation with God and love for other people.

Sure is. I quote the Bible all the time, and don't put an ounce of stock in it.

Though some would argue that my showing compassion to my fellow man, loving my neighbor, and honoring all peoples is "living the bible" more than many who believe it to be the word of God, but that would be atopical.

Definitely is a difference!!! Anybody can read a book but how many people follow the instructions? And not just the instructions that are convenient to them.

Memorizing the Bible isn't the key!
Even Satan has the scriptures memorized.
Practicing/Living it is the importance.
It's not what you have in your head,
it's what you have in your heart.
