I wet the bed until I was in my pre-teens and it isn't anything bad and can actually be fixed by visiting your doctor. Explain the situation and there will be a variety of treatments to choose from; they include diapers that make noise and vibrate when moisture is detected to what I did: antibiotic nose spray. Visit your doctor and I assure you everything will be fine. Best Wishes!

At least 15% of children are not dry at this age. There is also a strong genetic role, so if you or dad were wetters, this may be a reason.

I had little success in treating children under the age of 6 or 7. Punishment plays no role and is psychologically harmful. (I recently spoke to a 55 year old man who related how his father beat him after bed wetting, and worse!)

Try a star chart, with a star for each dry night. After five stars, give her a special treat.

DDAVP nasal spray is effective but expensive, and the child again wets when the medication is stopped.

After age 6 or 7, alarms are frequently effective. The new ones are small, battery operated, and run about $50 - 70. Initially you may need to wake the child fully and take her to the bathroom when the alarm sounds, but most kids soon catch on and go to the bathroom alone after a learning period.

Good luck, and patience! And, by all means see a doc if daytime wetting continues. This needs to be checked out.

I would take her to the doctor since she has a problem with it during the day as well. She could have a bladder problem like my lil brother did. However, he did not wet the bed. He just could not hold it. There is a common medical condition, especially in girls. I cannot remember exactly what it was called, but I had my brother-in-law telling me about it. He is an EMS. It causes them to go right then and most of the time it is hard for them to make it to the bathroom. Once they feel it, that's it, it is time to go. If left untreated it can be real harmful and have lasting effects on the child.

If she is wetting herself while she is awake it is most likely a physical problem. Take her to the doctor and explain that to him. It may something that can be fixed.

My sister and a cousin wet the bed until they were almost in their teens. Nothing would help it except time. My sister did not wet when she slept over at someone elses' house. Possibly because she didn't sleep as deeply as in her own bed. But she never wet during the day or while awake.

Day wetting is a problem you should certainly see your doctor about. Night wetting is such a common issue in kids, I would let it work its course and let her use a diaper at night. I wet the bed up to at least 12. I was put in diapers at night which I do admit at first I was very embarrased but I got used to it. They just became to me my nite time pants which was no big deal. Its all how you treat the child, dont treat her like a baby, treat her like any other kid and it will work it self out. Each child is so different, my almost 7 yr old never had any issues at night but one of his classmates from his school which is one of our neighbors wears a diaper to bed. My 4 1/2 yr old recently started having night time accidents which now wears a diaper to bed. We chose to use protection but you can take her to your doctor and get his opinion.

i'm 15 and wet the bed. my mom and i have kind of gotten used to this so we don't make a big deal out of it and just hope it will end soon. but i can't drink anything after dinner. i go to the bathroom right before bed. i also have to wear diapers. my mom wakes me up at 12:00 to empty my bladder. also i wear a SleepDry alarm under my diaper that's attached to my panties. this is what i have to deal with. but i would check out your daughters pediatrician and have her wear pull ups for now so you're not stuck with laundary every day. best wishes.

One of my neighbors had some success by giving her daughter a salty snack before bed. I guess it made the child retain some fluid so she did not have the urge to pee.
