If you have plastic PVC drain pipes, it may eat a hole in them. If you are talking abou the paint thinner that is left over from cleaning out your paint brushes, the best thing to do with it, is to dump it out on a piece of concrete or asphalt in the sun and it will simply evaporate from the heat. Of course, do this in an area where the paint that is in it won't mark up the concrete that you care about. When I live in the city, I just went out to the street and dumped it out on a sunny day and in about 5 minutes it was totally evaporated.
That's just my $.02

NO do not dump it down the sink... It may dry and clog up everything.. Making a real mess... You might want to dump the paint if its a small amount under a 1/2 gal. into a disposible container let it dry and dispose.. Also, if it's a small amount you might want to save it for touch up... .You can put it in a jar label it with the room/color and keep.... Or donate it to someone that's painting... Oh, but if it's got thinner in it put it in a jar/container and throw in the trash... Good luck....

You should never dump paint thinner or anything other household chemicals down your drain. First it is more then likely illegal and second it is really unhealthly. Look in your telephone listings and find a local facility where you can get rid of the thinner.

The best way to handle this is to take and put the mix in a contanier and take it to the local landfill or dump site. Because it could stop your drains up if not careful. You really don't want to dump it outside unless you leave in the country cause you could get in trouble.

NO!!!!!! do NOT dump it down the drain!!! i learned in painting class that this is really bad for the pipes. It isnt that great to dump it in the grass, but if u dont have a secure area do it there or in the road so it doesnt kill the grass.

No!
Leave the cans open outside until the paint gets rock hard. Then dispose of according to your local rules (Maybe leave next to the garbage cans for pickup).

i dont think so but i do like the answers which said to check with the sanitation department because some substances can be flammable without our common "regular people" knowledge. i heard that even a static shock can ignite some substances
