I can't find any in the metal cans. Does anyone know where I can buy them at in all metal or all plastic cans? The heat over in Iraq melts the wax on the cardboard ones making it unusable. Thanks!

You can get metal tins at Walmart of second hand shops. Buy fun ones like christmas designs or multi-color patterns,
I used these when I sent stuff to my brother while he was in Iraq and they worked nicely. Just dont put any liquid in them.
I also vaccum sealed some cookies. THe chocolate melted a little so he ate them with a spoon but it worked non-the-less.
Also on of the only candies that is chocolate based that doenst melt in shipment is Tootsie Rolls. :)
Other good ideas of stuff to send:
Grass seeds (They like to grow their own grass over there)
New books
just released DVDs
Under Armour socks & shirts (slicks away the sweat)
Battery powered fan with water spritzer
and kind of personal video gaming device (like a used Gameboy)
Lots and LOTS of letters from friends and family (we arranged a HUGE hamily picnic and everyone wrote on a huge piece of banner paper)
Video diaries (we tapped ourselves doing things that he would have like to be with us, like kayaking, hiking, and hanging out with friends, talk to the camera like he is there with you)

Walmart has metal tins and plastic "tins" w/ tight-fitting lids. Usually in the kitchen aisles or (for some reason) near toys and the garden center.

Not sure about getting proper snuff tins but ask around your friends to see if they have any old camera film canisters.
A friend of mine carries his in that when he is going walking etc as they are less liable to leak if it's wet.

put stuff into some clened out coffee cans....i sent one to my cousin and he got everything just fine trail mix without M&M's was included.....some things solideirs really need socks t'shirts chapstick tampons (if female) but don't send just one thing send a gruoping of each so they can passs stuff out to fellow platoon members
