Pizza or hot dogs and chips and dip. They all love it and it is not as expensive as lets say cooking on the grill and so forth. If you want, maybe a veggie tray with dip to go along with it.

Five year olds are simple, just put out chips, pizza, hot dogs, or hamburgers. Anything they can eat on the run. Finger foods that are easy to grab was always what my kids liked at that age. Good luck on the party!

If this year has been attempting, the two on your sake and hers, i could save it straightforward. no could desire to spend $4 hundred on a occasion, except you're alongside with presents in that finances besides. Have a small, intimate exterior BBQ, or perhaps less complicated, munchies, cake and ice cream. Sesame highway themed cake, sesame highway decorations (cups, plates, napkins, streamers). some buddies and kinfolk. presents. Voila. carried out. Your daughter, at a year previous, won't truly basically be tired of a good sized extravegant occasion, yet she could get drained and overwhelmed. save it for while she's older and can delight in it. A one-year previous won't have the flexibility to play (m)any video games, particularly pin the tail on something!

Kids of this age love finger foods or foods they can help make. One idea is pizza bites... take roll biscuits and let each child decorate the biscuit with sauce, meats and cheese however they want to. It makes if fun for them. However with several 5 year olds, safety and mess (sanity) can be a concern. Another idea would be to premake simple sandwhiches and give them a variety of cookie cutters to choose their own special shape and let them cut their sandwhich with the cutter.

Kids love finger foods. Really, I'd serve what my 5 yr old wanted, unless I felt none of the other kids would like it, and in that case I'd serve it with an alternative.
Another thing that is fun (but can get messy) is to let them make and top their own ice cream sundays. They LOVE it. Get different sprinkles, toppings, whip creams, cherries, syrups and let them have a hay day.

With experience as a former kid, I think I can say that kids are willing to eat a lot more stuff if it's presented in a way that makes it look cool. Veggie plates, neatly arranged fruit, finger sandwiches - just take some time stacking them on plates and making them look nice.
