There's too much information missing.
How did these two feel about each other before he left the country?
WHY did he leave the country?
How long has he been gone?
Which other country did he go to?
Are there reliable phone lines there?
My husband goes home to Africa sometimes, and I might not hear from him for days, because sometimes it's hard to get a call to go through. But he comes back. Of course he does. I'm not going to get a divorce or pick up another guy just because my husband has gone to visit his parents and sisters and brothers for a few weeks, and we don't talk every single day while he's there.
On the other hand, if this was a casual relationship, and the guy has been gone for more than a few months with no contact at all, yeah, I'd be able to move on with my life. Clearly he's found something else to occupy his time.

Hopefully I would move on. If someone is so inconsiderate to leave and stop talking all of a sudden, then someone needs to hit the "next" button.
This sounds like a soap opera plot to me. Please don't tell me he was captured by terrorists and then released to the Tibetan monks where he found peace or I'll know you are talking about a soap opera!

I would for get him cuz he ignored me for 2 years.I would probably have a new bf by then.If the boy was Paul Wojdyla i never would fall out of love with him.

After 2 years, I would say we are done, but I would be horribly heart broken at the lack of closure he provided. It might take awhile to get over that.

ohnestly most guys i would just say *** em and get over it... obvioulsy i didnt mean that much to him... but if the man im with now did that then yes id deff wait for him... actually knowing me id b on a plane going to find him!!! lol!! i hope this isnt something youv done or are planning to do to somebody cuz thats real shitty!!!

I would wonder where he'd gone to and why he stopped calling, but I wouldn't wait around for him. He didn't ask me to. He obviously didn't want to have anything to do with me anymore so why wait?

no i wouldnt wait maybe a week or two but thats it....where is the respect? so move on with your life and if he comes back and you still dont have anyone then maybe try but dont assume he is coming back to you

I wouldn't wait for him to come back, I may be friends after he did come back, but that isn't all that forgivable. I would be pissed if I didn't hear from him.

I think I would be very worried and contact his family? But if he just never contacted me I guess I would stop waiting.
