Hippie Jesus is the much better. Back when I worked in the Psych Hospital delivering meds I had hair to my belt line. The patients use to follow me around just to touch me because they thought I was him. I imagine once the meds were administered they got over it. Anyway, yes, hippie Jesus.
I use the pictures and sometimes text from the watchtower in mixed media art pieces. I get a kick out of them.

Jesus was a perfect man. Do you honestly think he looked like a druggie from the 60's? Pale, skinny with stringy hair? I don't think so.
The Nazi rites where the only ones that were not suppose to cut their hair. Judges 12: 5
1 Cor. 11: 14 states: "Does not nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him; but if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her? Because her hair is given to her instead of a headdress."
It sounds like they were just giving you an invitation to the convention. I'm sure you were not singled out. It doesn't sound like it was the same witnesses that you spoke with at the gas pump or did you tell them were you worked? We are making a effort to invite everyone to our convention worldwide.
Edit: Sasi you need to read the whole scripture Is. 53: 2 "And he will come up like a twig before one, and like a root out of waterless land. No stately form does he have, nor any splendor, and when we shall see him, there is not the appearance so that we should desire him."
Jesus is spoken of as the "twig of Jesse" Is 11:1 this is an prophetic illustration regarding Jesus. He was a humble, lowly carpenters son, a twig not a majestic tree.
Is 52:14 "To the extent that many have stared at him in amazement...see Matt 15:31 for fulfillment "so that the crowd felt amazement as they saw the dumb speaking and the lame walking and the blind seeing, and they glorified the God of Israel."
"so much was the disfigurement as respects his appearance,
more than that of any other man .."
This showed that Jesus would be hated and persecuted, John 15:20 - 25 "Bear in mind the word I said to you, A slave is not greater than his master. If thye hav persecuted me, they will persecute you also,...He that hates me, hates also my Father. If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have both seen and hated me as well as my Father. But it is that the word written in their Law may be fulfilled, "They hated me without cause."
"and as respects his stately form more than that of the sons of mankind." Christ was dignified when being persecuted.
1 Peter 2: 20-24 "...Christ suffered for you, leaving you a model to follow his steps closely....When he was being reviled, he did not go reviling in return. When he was suffering, he did not go threatening, but kept on commiting himself to the one who judges righteously. He himself bore our sins in his own body upon the stake, in order that we might be done with sins and live to righteousness. And "by his stripes you were healed"."

You are disappointed with an artist's conception of Jesus with short hair? Tell me, how long do you think his hair was since we have no photographs of him. And I'm sure he did not pose so someone could do a painting of him. But more importantly, did you read what was in the pamphlet? If not, I encourage you to do so.
Jehovah's Witnesses preach wherever there are people to talk to. The early Christians did that, including Paul and the apostles. So why does it surprise you that you should see JW's at businesses. Does your church encourage you to comply with Jesus' last command to his followers to "go and make disciples of people of all the nations, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you"? (Matt. 28:19, 20)

I received a JW leaflet with a brown-eyed, olive-skinned Jesus smiling out at me. He looked so debonaire it gave me the creeps. Why? Because the Bible says "He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him." (Isaiah 53:2) So the sooner JWs stop portraying Jesus as a Hollywood-type figure in their art-work, the better. In fact, they'd do better not even trying to picture his face at all, especially scenes of his death: "...there were many who were appalled at him - his appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any man and his form marred beyond human likeness" (Isa 52:14).

Long-haired hippie Jesus for sure. I always imagined him looking like Greg Allman.
Talk to your supervisor. I'm pretty sure they're not allowed in a workplace without management's permission.

Why are JW's coming to businesses now?
Act 20:20 You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you "publicly" and from house to house.

We try to reach people where ever they are, businesses, gas stations, their homes, whever. Our message is very important. Would you have laughed at Jesus if he walked up to you at work?
We do not work our way to heaven, that's not even our hope. We do this out of love for Jehovah and love for our neighbors. In Paul's words at Romans 10:14 - (Romans 10:14) "However, how will they call on him in whom they have not put faith? How, in turn, will they put faith in him of whom they have not heard? How, in turn, will they hear without someone to preach?"

True Christians (such as Jehovah's Witnesses) note that the apostles and other early Christians worked to preach in public places, personal homes, and in places of commerce. As Christ himself commanded, true Christians must "search out" listeners.
(Acts 17:17) [Paul] began to reason in the synagogue with the Jews and the other people who worshiped God and every day in the marketplace with those who happened to be on hand.
(Matthew 10:7-14) As you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of the heavens has drawn near.’ ...Into whatever city or village you enter, search out who in it is deserving... Wherever anyone does not take you in or listen to your words, on going out of that house or that city shake the dust off your feet.

I live in the bible belt. Almost everyone here is some type of baptist. They never talk about religion until something big happens.
