ok, this always makes me laugh when people say "humans are at the top of the food chain because were better than animals at everything"
Ok. number one. The only things humans are good at are things that werent around before we existed. (example: playing video games, driving cars, flying airplanes)
Ok Number two. Humans are weak, we have no fur, we have no claws, and teeth not suitable for attacking. to show this point. Think about this in youre head. A man in the wilderness, he has a coat, a gun, a mini-stove and some food in his bag. ok, now picture a huge bear attacking him. what happens? he kills the bear.
Now picture a man, with no clothes, and no gun, and no ministove. hes out of his element. hes in a cold, unforgiving place, a bear attackes him. what happens this time?
There. this kind of thing happens ONLY to animals that arent on the top of the food chain. im not namind any specifics, for example, im not saying the bears at the top of the food chain. but we are NOT.

IN RESPONSE TO CHELSEA: In response to the first part of your question, that wouldnt happen. the point is theyre not equal with us. theyre more suited for the environment. hence they have sharp teeth, fur and claws.
And you cant bring up the argument of cities. thats not an environment. Humans created it. We change things and say "look, it cant survive here but we can. its inferior"
Plus, IF a human was stupid enough to attack a hairless, clawless bear, chances are he would be killed from blunt trauma. The powerful swinging arms of the bear would kill him.
A mans coat and gun and stove are NOT like a bears natural defenses. the bear doesent go several years and invent a new defense. it has what its had for hundreds of years.
And our "adapting" is nothing more than changing the environment. Because of this, humans will not make necessary evolutionary changes. we wont adapt, and one day our technology wont be there to help us. then what?
Plus our technology is a two edged sword.

BUT if a bear with no fur, no teeth, and no claws lived in the wilderness, and a man with no coat, no gun and no ministove came out, WHAT WOULD HAPPEN?
Or, If a bear went into the city, he is totally out of his element. He is in an unfamiliar, unforgiving -place, and a human attacked. What would happen?
You only looked at this one way, Think of the man's gun, and ministove and coat as the bears Claws, teeth and fur. We humans were not born with these attributes, but we have ADAPTED, and thanks to technology and inventions, we are, and can be at the top of the foood chain. AND, HUmans also have the ability to think and to reason, much inlike the lower species. Which means, that if we were in the forest with no gear, we would know what to do. Make a fire out of two dry sticks, make weapons out of rocks, sticks, sharperned sticks. And we could make a shelter. This is part of teh reason we are placed on top of th efood chain. We are the SMARTEST species.

Wrong. About the game and driving cars part...dude...do you know how smart we are? we only use 10 percent of our brain and look at where we are now. we may not be perfect, but we are one of the smartest animals.
About the bear thing. If you were in the woods with no equipment im pretty sure you would know what to do to survive. you could make fires the old way by rubbing sticks together, find a type of stick, and find a rock and begin to sharpen the sticks end, making yourself a spear, therefore makeing a weapon to protect yourself. i can go on...but im sure you see why humans are at the top of the food chain.

It is our ability to out-think our prey that makes us top of the food chain. It's not about making us equal with wild animals, ot they equal with us. Sure...there is the occasional man, who wanders out in to the forest, get's mauled and killed. I think Darwin called this "survival of the fittest". The old, the weak, the injured, the ignorant...all get taken out. The man sure wasn't able to beat the animal in a fight, and he wasn't smart enough to arm himself, so therefore, he was removed from the evolutionary system. Simple as that!

Your observation is interesting but it is NOT valid. Man remains at the top of the food chain NOT because he is fanged n clawed with thick hide and four legs to run on, but because of his superior ability to reason and build and use tools, weapons, master fire, etc. Big cats, wolves, bears are all better predators but they can't build weapons or master fire, so they remain below Man in the scheme of things. After all, God in His wisdom did place Man over the animals. We should be grateful and never abuse that charge.

I agree with you 100%*... Animals are unique and have tremendous natural instinct for survival*... Humans have to learn everything*... There is no human equal to, or in anyway comparable to any animal on the Planet*...We just like to think that we are, and are badly mistaken*...Their senses are more acute than any human animal*...

It's our ability to think and to reason that places us above the lower species. Well...most of us have that ability.
