I recently posted a question about the wreck between Stewart and Hamlin in Daytona. LET'S JUST ASSUME for a second that Stewart did nothing wrong, what is his excuse for his behavior in the interview?

I don't care what business you're in, you never, EVER speak poorly of a co-worker in front of a client, vendor, the media, etc.

Assuming Tony did nothing wrong and was taken out by his teammate - or any other car, for that matter - the lack of professionalism in his interview was embarrassing. He should have done what a class act like Jeff Burton has done and suck it up, be thankful that no one was hurt, and get ready for the next race. It's okay to be mad about things like that, but you have to take it in stride because that is one of those things that can happen to anyone at any given time.

I believe you can speak poorly of anyone co-worker, friend spouse whatever as long as what you are saying is true and honest. That is what I value the most about these people is that they are honest and tell me things even if I don't want to hear it. A true friend appreciates it when you are completly honest. All said and done Tony has alot more experience than Denny and like everyone else spouts off the first thing that comes to their mind in the heat of the moment. Be it right or wrong and the media loves this and eats it up. Why else would you shove a camera in a mans face minutes after a crash and expect him to be Mr. nice guy. If his interview would have been Like " That's ok Denny I didn't really want to win anyway. By the way let's go get Jared and go to Subway I'm buying. You all would have thought he was nothing but a bull*****er....

Tony Stewart has had an anger issue since he started cup and whenever something goes wrong and he involves him he has a problem with it and thinks that it is not his fault especially when it might be depending on the situation at hand. He might have thought that what he said in his interview might get him some justice in the issue but if he is speaking poorly then you know that nascar is going to have their say if they can. There really is not excuse for what he did and even if there were he should own up to when he does make a mistake it will make things easier for him and the tension between him and everyone else will not be rough.

stewart is to selfish for Gibbs racing, he always wants to be the number 1 driver at that team. He thinks teamates are suppose to help him win races and championships. He should ask himself. Who at Gibbs has won a race this season? Who at Gibbs is the highest in points? who in Gibbs actually made the chase last year? not to mention hamlin being a rookie last year

I totally agree with you. I watched the race and the wreck. My personal opinion is that Tony got greedy and he is never at fault. Thats what I almost hate about him. I just think he lets his emotions get the best of him sometimes. He needs to cool his jets and go back to Anger Management courses and learn how to deal with his emotions prior to blurping it out on the television media. Go in private to scream at your teammate.

Amazingly enough, I actually like Stewart. I don't know what was said, the race wasn't televised and we don't have cable in my area. But *sigh* knowing Stewart, he probably opened mouth and inserted fist err, I mean foot. As if the sport needed any more help, he DOES tend to keep things interesting. Doesn't he? In his defense, he IS a good driver, we just need to work on the rest of him.

Exactly. His little fit just remind once again why I do not like him. It is one thing to be mad after a wreck and kind of bash the guy you were in it with but Tony was out of line. that was his teammate. (and Tony's fault). Now Denny handles his interview very fairly. lots of respect to him.
Maybe the Tony fans need to see this as a reminder, this is how he has always been and we all know anger management classes DID NOT HELP.

You are absolutely right! Tony Stewart behaved like a child and needs to apologize not only to Denny Hamlin and Denny's team but to Joe Gibbs himself. Tony is a great driver but his personality sucks! He needs to look up teammate in the dictionary and practice it!

Let me start by saying my opinion is biased since I am a Stewart fan. But you have to consider that guy just climbed out of a car that was running over 180 mph and was involved in a wreck. He had a car capable of a win, and was going for a threepeat. His adrenaline was still way up and a camera is shoved in his face. Do I feel what he said was wrong...No....Do I feel how he said it was wrong.... Sure do. But I don't care if it is a driver I like or a driver I can't stand, They all react the same way when they are in that situation. Keep in mind Tony, Denny and the announce booth all said the exact same thing about the wreck. Tony was just a little more jacked up about it.
