I would like to know what girls opinions are. Whether or not they think that it is infact the guy hitting on them, or is there context around the situation that determines whether or not it is a pass or just generosity.

Guys, do you ever just buy a drink where it is not suggesting you want to sleep with the person you are buying the drink for?

I get sick and tired of girls always thinking I want them. Even if I just start up a conversation, they look at me as if I'm a perverted sex guy. Can't any girls just stop jumping to conclusions about every single guy you meet? Get to know them before you assume!!!

Ummm - I think I usually make it pretty clear before I accept the drink what my intentions are. Most of the men I have met are the same way as well. I think it varies based on people. There are girls (usually younger ones) that will accept a drink and feel obligated to talk to the guy for an extended period of time or do other things... and guys (usually younger ones) that expect the same thing... after a while, you learn to tell the difference and it's not such a big deal.

The way that you conduct yourself in the situation says alot more than just buying a drink. If you are sincere and fun and show no signs of heavy flirting etc then a woman can see right through you and see that theres no intentions. Or you can just be like my one goofy friend and say it straight " I am not wanting to get into your pants but you look thirsty thas all" LOL so ya just be a gentleman about it , not a playa.

Well considering the only places guys usually buy girls drinks are in clubs and bars and 99% of the men in clubs and bars are just looking to hook up I'm gonna say it def. has a hidden meaning behind it. It may just be harmless flirting or trying to get her drunk to get in her pants but a drink is never just a drink.

I know girls that let guys buy them drinks all night with no intention of giving him anything. They refer to him as their "sponsor" for the evening. Just using them!

I buy stuff for girls just because I know it makes them happy that someone would do that for them. most of the time its not an advance.

Unless he is just a friend, I think he is hitting on me, or at least wants some of my time. I feel obligated to at least talk to him.

I don't think it necessarily means you want to sleep with them, well for many guys it would, but really i think it definitely says, "I'm interested in you."
