I am an active man of 58 Does it matter if I consume loads of calories at one go then snack. Or should I eat the same amount each meal with no snacking to achieve my daily allowance

split it up a little at least but you can eat more at dinner than breakfast though do like 500 500 800-1000 and that should be pretty good for you

I don't think it's a good idea. You should split them in almost equal parts, with breakfast being the largest. The reason is if you take a huge load of calories at one go, it would be hard to digest and the energy supplied to your body will be unbalanced resulting in high and lows of energy. If you take equal parts and in between close intervals (around 3 hours, 4 hours the max), not only do you have a balanced energy supply, but also, you burn more fat because the body can handle the load much more easily, or so like said.
