Good question, I note all the anti police chavs are out in force. The police DO bring criminals to Justice, collate all the evidence, which is put before a Court. This was a superb investigation and I agree with the asker that we should be proud of the police force we have in our islands, second to none. They are bigger than their wearisome detractors. Well done indeed.

Iain I think the question relates to the July 21st bomb attempts........ hence 'brought to justice' at the end of the question, which tends to suggest 'found guilty' at court. Obviously you didn't read the full question.... just saw the word 'Police' and went into your usual rant mode (look at your thumbs down as usual!!!).
The Police and the public did well, as did all the other contibutors. The only disappointment is that these immigrants will probably end up in a cushy UK prison. They should be sent to a hell hole in their respective countries.
As for the Glasgow incident...... well done to the public for their swift action. Had you been there Iain I think you would be running the other way...... all mouth and little action!!!!!!!
As for Yanks answering this question..... please don't bother, our country is nothing like yours.

The information network for them has worked better this time, and what some of their detractors forget is that they are people just like us, who are not paid a lot of money to go out onto those streets day after day and have to put up with far more than i would!! They need more help from the public not slagging off ! As for the terrorists, it might be kinder to execute them because they won't have an easy ride when they are jailed.

Yes I do agree that they did a good job in arresting them, but I suspect that MI5 or MI6 actually followed them and informed the police that they were plotting terrorist attacks. Luckily we have the best security services in the world i.e MI5 and they have foiled man potential attacks. Alex

One of the the things that has never been mentioned during the present prison crisis is that the police must be doing something right if the country is running out of cell space.

Compared to other countries the UK police force is Brilliant, lets not forget our force is primarily unarmed as a rule. despite the increase in criminals carrying weapons, but on the other hand i feel the so called intelligence service is very poor. the police are constantly picking up the pieces left as a result of poor intelligence. its more a case of shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted.

I agree. They do an outstanding job, often in the face of great adversity and lack of resources and for the most part, unarmed.
Their detractors may well say otherwise but when they are assaulted, robbed, burgled, who are the first people they call?

You Brits are awesome. All of America including the media has praised your boys in blue. As a former law enforcement officer your country as a whole gets 2 thumbs up from me and America as a whole.

Boys in blue????
Detectives and investigators are the ones that catch terrorists! The boys in blue would merely take a call, but have to end up forwarding the matter to an investigator. Then they sit next to a stash of donuts and write the report...
