I haven't heard that about mosquitos, but I have hear that giving dogs garlic helps to get rid of fleas. I'm not sure how much either, but you can probably just sprinkle some garlic powder in their food. The amount you give them would also depend on the size of the dog.

An overdose of garlic is bad for dogs. So even if it did work, it might hurt the dog. The best thing to give the dog is Frontline to repel fleas, etc. and a monthy heartworm preventative, like Sentinel. The heartworm preventative will protect the dog from getting heartworms (which are transmitted by mosquitos).

To the people who have said that you can't give your dogs garlic. Read the articles again. The amount of garlic required to be toxic to a dog is **huge**. I give my dogs garlic as part of their diet. I give good quality garlic, because some dogs react to garlic, if it's low quality. Always give human grade garlic. If you are giving garlic cloves (which is the best way to give it) give 1/2 crushed clove per 10kilo in weight. This can be given four times per week. Repels fleas, etc. because they can't stand the smell. If you are using capsules, one capsule per 10kilo weight. Do a google on garlic. There are loads of sites on the benefits of garlic to humans and dogs.

Never heard that about people. Seems the mosquitos suck on Chinese(who eat alot of garlic and onion)equally as much as they do on others.

I use Advantix on my dogs. It repels mosquitos as well as fleas and ticks. It is the best thing ever created!!!! It is expensive though.

Good luck!
