I mean disorders like Asperger's Syndrome. Would you prefer them to date someone who is normal socially?

I'd be upset if my child got involved with a bigoted fool who can't accept the neurodiversity of human beings. Prejudice and bigotry are learned behaviors - they are not natural - meaning they are not "normal."

What's there to be upset about? If this person made my child happy and treated them well, then I'd be all for it. That's the same feeling I would have if they dated someone not on the spectrum. I'm sure that the parents of the child with ASD would be leery of their child dating mine (due to the fact that their child may have had difficulty making friends previously).

I think that my kid would have certain challenges that others might not face, and that would concern me. However, if the person with Asperger's syndrome made my child happy and treated him/her well, that would be the most important thing to me.

Thats a hard question. I'd like to say that it wouldn't bother me at all but i think deep down i would want my child to be with someone "normal"

i would actually be proud of them for it. if they could handle it, i have no problem with it. it shows that you raised a good kid that doesnt discriminate against anybody. most people wouldnt want to date someone with a disability.
