I've very recently quit drinking and I'd like to find some fun activities to do while sober so I'm not sitting home bored while all my friends are at the bar. Either solo or group activity ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

Congrats on quitting! I'd normally say crosswords or taping trivia games for home stuff, or crocheting or some hobby, but them temptation might be too much to have a drink while alone. How about things that keep you surrounded by sober people? Like volunteering, an evening job, taking evening college classes, ballroom dance lessons, volunteering at a senior center and playing bingo or cards and hearing their stories, joining a book club or cooking classes. Exercising even if it's walking the dog or walking around the block, bicycling, join a gym. Take a look at your local newspaper's community pages, they're usually filled with notices about clubs and activities.

Good luck and G-d bless you for taking the sober way!

If you have the will power just go out with your friends like you used to, even be the designated driver. I know drunks can be a little annoying but in general they are funny as hell to laugh at and watch when they are drunk. It always kinda made me glad I wasn't the one making an *** out of myself.

try keeping occupied on a computer, eg. games puzzles etc, or even studying, this is while you're at home, that's for my solo suggestion. Now for my group suggestion~mmmmm? don't invite friends that drink. p.s. let me know how you go, I might try! Good luck.

If you got a karoke machine, you could have sober karoke at your house. I didnt think it would be that much fun, but I did it with friends...its kinda nice to be able to do it, and be more in control of yourself:)
