I would go for Hatton but it depends what weight. Ricky could walk through some of Floyds shots to land big but Floyd can stay away from most boxers all fight and steal it. I hope that doesnt happen as it will be really boring.

Are you kidding me, how can anyone say Hatton can beat the P4P King? Hatton has 2 significant wins in his career over top fighters, one against an old man the other against a shell shocked Jose Luis Castillo. Hatton opened his mouth and now he will have Mayweathers leather covered fist in it all night long, if he can stand up that long. If people thought Gatti-Mayweather was bad then don't watch this, Ricky Hatton will get sent home in a body bag.

The fact that Hatton is the 1st fighter that Mayweather is considering fighting is telling. Mayweather is unwilling to step into the ring with anyone who is at their peak and can give him some competition. He he unwilling to rise to the challenge posed by the likes of Cotto, Mosley, Margarito, Williams, etc. This is the same as picking on the small kid on the playground.
Hatton is the least dangerous and smallest of the potential Mayweather opponents. I don't get how Hatton, who has not even been competitive at 147 lbs, gets a shot at Mayweather before the usual welterweight suspects.
Hatton needs to step up to 147 lbs and show us that he can handle the weight......no way this fight happens at 140 lbs. With all of the big $$$ type of match ups from 147 - 154, Hatton should have thrown his his hat in the ring long ago....the fact that he hasn't implies that he thinks 147 lbs is too much for him.
I will commend Hatton....because this truely will challenge his abilities. Hatton will lose.....and we will still be asking ourselves who's the best at 147-154lbs.
I'll put my $$ down on Mayweather........and would love to lose the $$.

Hatton will beat Mayweather in my opinion. Hatton is just approaching his peak, Mayweather is on the slide. Mayweather will be on his toes but Hatton will slip most of his punches and land heavily to the body. Mayweather will slow and tire. Hatton will not slow and will bully Mayweather into a late stoppage. However the weight that they fight at may be decisive.

Depending on what weight really. At Light welter weight I would say Hatton has an even chance. However the fight will probably be at welter weight since Mayweather is calling the shots. Mayweather will pound him anything heavier than light welter weight. Simply because Hatton cannot step up. Look what happened last time, it was a scrappy win. Hatton loses his key attribute speed. Don't get me wrong i'd like Hatton to win but realistically if i was a betting man i'd put it on Mayweather

This question has been asked by tons of people since this fight was scheduled. This won't be a fight, Hatton isn't quick enough he can't box & Mayweather's defense is too good to get hit with a hail mary shot. Hatton isn't as strong as Oscar & Oscar never hurt Floyd. Floyd outboxed Oscar & landed shots & moved & won that fight easy. He will hit Hatton often & will make Hatton quit in around the 9th round. The weight will probably be 147 & Hatton had one fight at that weight & won a close decision to an average fighter, that Shane Mosley destroyed 6 months later. Everyone is thinking Hatton is this great fighter because of his last fight. He did look good but his competition quit. Hatton beat an aging Kosta Zyu & then won his last fight & everyone else isn't even worth mentioning. Floyd will beat him just like he did another slow brawler in Arturo Gatti. Badly!!!!

You know this fight will not happen for two reasons:
1. Mayweather Jr. will fight at 147lbs. and give Hatton a shot at the title for a nice sum of money which Hatton will not take. Hatton said himself he struggled at 147.
2. Hatton will want the fight at 140, but Mayweather Jr. will not do it. He already won a belt at that division and will lose money fighting Hatton at 140lbs when he is already the 147lb champ and it was Hatton who called him out not Mayweather Jr. (If you are a real fan of boxing you know Mayweather Jr. will not do this fight without it being for a lot of money and a non-title match.)

Where does 'Big E' get off calling Hatton slow? Hatton is fast. He absolutely MUST fight mayweather at 140 though. That is actually the best weight for floyd too. But floyds track record is to only fight when he has a distinct advantage, which he would at a higher weight, so look for floyd not to want to fight at best weight of 140. He is a real piece of work - that mayweather is. He is bad for the sport of boxing.

Skill vs. Power, Ricky Hatton doesn't have the technique to stand up against Mayweather. Simply put that philly shell defense is next to perfect and he never misses an opportunity. I don't even think this is a match, pretty boy Floyd is pound for pound the best and has showed it over and over.

If Hatton cuts the ring off and gets hold of Mayweather then his body shots will sting him. Otherwise Mayweather will dance around the ring and pick Hatton off with the jab. My bet would be Hatton, he'll be hungrier for it.

i cant believe how everybody is going for hatton. that reason why mayweather well win is because he is a GREAT DEFENSIVE fighter which mean he can whoop a BRAWLER like hatton. if Oscar couldn't handle mayweather hatton wont stand a chance.
