Just follow the true message of Holy Quran and be practical Muslims in quality.

Hold to forgiveness; command what is right; but turn away from the ignorant. (Holy Quran:7:199)

Ye shall certainly be tried and tested in your possessions and in your personal selves; and ye shall certainly hear much that will grieve you from those who received the Book before you and from those who worship many gods. But if ye persevere patiently and guard against evil then that will be a determining factor in all
affairs. (Holy Quran: 3:186)

I am sure most of those keep shouting will never have heard of there Quranic Verses. Empty vessels make much noice while true knowledge makes a man humble and tolerant towards others. Much of education and true understanding of Islam is needed as to learn true message of Almighty and understand God's plan and about the world. Holy Quran says, If God willed He would have created every man as one nation. The differance is His according to His plans and we are to show our true message of Islam through actions and speech. Guidance is from God Almighty which he bestow upon sincere hearts.

I was reading the introduction to the book of Dr.Ali Shariati... and I came across a speech Lady Fatima (s.a.a.) gave... it was interesting... cz it described the current situation with Islam... here is the link...
http://www.al-islam.org/fatimaisfatima/1.htm

The part I'm talking about is:

"Woe be to them! Is it not more worthy to follow the one who guides rather than the one who cannot find his way if he is not guided? What has happened to you? What kind of a judgement is this? You have impregnated the earth with your act. Just wait until the time when it gives birth. I swear to you, instead of milk, you will have buckets full of blood and poison will flow from the breasts of the newborn.

"It is then that the destroyers of rights will lose and those who will come in the future will find and realizethe terrible results of what the ancestors have done. So you should be satisfied with your daily affairs and live in peace prior to the storm and terrible revolts.

"For then, the sharp swords of the dominations of the oppressors, anarchy and the rule of tyrants will overcome you. The oppressors will enslave you. No public assets except a small quantity will remain. They will cultivate with force what you have planted with love. At that time you will only sigh for there will be nothing that you can do because you were blind and could not see the truth. They will oblige you because you have turned your faces from the right way and you did not accept it."

If you want a good answer to your question, read this carefully:
Don't listen to Vladimir and Just me, I'll clarify things:
First of all, people who do the violent and terrorist acts by the name of Islam are NOT muslims, they are hiding behind it to destroy it, and unfortunately they did plant that false idea of violent islam in your head, but trust me it's all false, read this very CAREFULLY:

Islam has found the solution to everything, look at the muslim communities, the no. of murders and betrayals and thefts is so much less than all other communities.
If you live in a muslim community you'll see that there is no severe poverty or kids sleeping in streets or husbands being betrayed by their wives, do you know why? Coz they are peaceful, they love people and do no harm, and help them in everything, all because they apply the regulations of Islam.
Look at Palestinians, everyday the Israelians ruin their homes and kill their children and women and men, but they don't do the opposite, coz they are PEACEFUL muslims.
Ask a person who wasn't born a muslim then became a muslim how peaceful is his religion.

What you see on TV is NOT true, you have seen the wrong picture, I swear.

And, as a reply to Knowledge seeker:
What you're saying exactly proves that muslims are peaceful, coz they don't use medias against you, but you do to destroy it.

Way to take the verses out of context, chump. Read the whole chapter or at least more verses that come before and after it. You're not fooling anyone except for the ignorant and those who already have a preconceived hate for Islam. Oops, that's about everyone. When you take such verses out of context, there is no choice BUT to misunderstand them, like you have just proven. For example, "The prince killed the man ruthlessly". What impression do you get from that? Now let's finish the story. "The evil man swung his sword savagely at the prince, aiming at his heart. The prince wielded his sword skillfully in haste. Just as the man's sword would pierce his skin, the prince killed the man ruthlessly. He had saved both his family and his own life with the death of the assassin." I could do that with the Bible: "Think not that I have come to send peace. I come not to send peace, but a sword." --Matthew 10:34. Now I ask, Christians: Is Christianity Really a Religion of Peace? Don't worry, I know I took that verse out of context to serve my own purpose just as you did, and I do not really mean it. I'm just trying to teach you a valuable lesson. So stop spreading the hate.

I would have to concur with those who say that actions speak louder than words.

Condemn just as loudly the violence done in the name of Islam as you condemn those who criticize Islam. Condemn the death sentence leveled again Rushdie.

Refuse to teach that the death penalty is acceptable punishment for leaving Islam. Freedom to worship as an individual chooses is definitive of a free society. To allow the death penalty for criticizing and/or leaving any religion places a society outside of the free world.

Like the Christian has missionaries, Muslims should have Da'wee (sp?) too.

N just like non-Muslims r using media, Muslims should use media too. I know many has started... but it is still yet on a very small scale. More n more experts should be encouraged.

But i think most important of all is Muslims should get education and also start reading Quran with understanding... so that they can act correctly and not get Islam blamed....

Well lets see when you say its a religion of peace and then every day of the week I see a news story about someone blowing up its easy to see how people get the idea its a violent religion.

Its all about how the media portrays it and face most people trust the media to some degree

I know Islam is a religion of peace, just like Christianity and the others. Others will always pervert it and give it a bad name...just like groups like the KKK do for Christianity.

What I would like to see is that when Muslim extremists commit violence...I would like Islamic leaders to come out publicly and condemn the violent actions.

Maybe I am not paying attention but I have not seen Islamic men of faith step forward and say this jihad violence is wrong and it is as upsetting to me as the Vatican's actions of hiding pedophiles (for which I still have not forgiven them)

I'm not a Muslim, but this is a good point. From what I've studied in school, Islam in theory is peacefull, and the radicals you see on the news are just a cult within it. Honestly with the media, there isn't much you can do. Once this war is over, though, people might begin to understand that.
