Ultimate Stagnancy is definitely one of the ways, but being stagnant without A way is not right.
So it is necessary, ( but definitely I do not mean the christian like Jesus Jesus stuff, and again even Jesus name is also wrong , His real name was different )
Its just how you direct your sutle mind towards the Aim, the aim being to reach the truth. That itself is the direction, enough to give enough motivation, and It will create a path for you, if you do not wish to follow what already existed.
The only difference , is the length, Your path may be extremely long, to reach the same truth, which others may reach with a shorter path, SO i suggest choose the Shortest.

If you can reach anywhere without a path on this earth, then it would be also true for reaching the truth of life.

Yes it is necessary to follow path which suits oneself to know about the truth of life.
We need directions when going to new places etc. Without directions we can go anywhere.
Directions are needed in one's life,work and at home. This is where the importance of right "Gurus" arises in the matter of spiritual terms.

I believe that the truth of life changes, there is no one truth. Life is dynamic, moving, constantly. It would stand to reason that the paths would also change. Enjoy the paths, rather than look for the one that will get you "there".

People have many good intentions but are those intentions what God wants for you? Are those good intentions aligned with his will for you?
The path to hell is paved with may good intentions.

Life is an ocean. If you do not have compas with you, it will be very difficult to reach proper shore. In the same manner, one has to select specific goal / aim and tread it with determined mind facing all ins-outs, hardships-pleasures, good-bad things. They are must.
