I am currently on Zoloft and Valium for depression and panic disorder. I haven't been on them long, but I have noticed an improvement with my depression and have been having less panic attacks. However, what is right for me might not be for you. There may be some trial and error in getting the correct medication. Consultation with your doctor will help getting you on the right track.

I've have taken both Zoloft and Effexor for the panic disorder and depression. Zoloft made me pretty goofy but really tired. The Effexor seems to be a nice contrast. It has really helped with the P.D. and depression. It really levels me out and I am not as tired. I am currently weaning myself off of the Effexor to be drug free. good Luck!

I personally have been on Zoloft and am still taking Effexor (150mg). I prefer Effexor way better. The anxiety is still there but you can control it. The panic attacks have seemed to disappear.

Good Luck!

There's a great drug for social anxiety disorder - Effexor. there are no side effects and you can take it in the morning and it will stay with you all day long. Since you're underage, you'll have to have one of your parents or someone acting on your behalf take you to the doctor. Good luck and God bless you.

most anti-depressants can treat social/panic disorder like paxil, effexor and cymbalta, but i find they are not really effective. drugs like klonipin, xanax, adavin, rivitral ( available in canada by RX) and small does of valium better trats the symptoms of social/panic disorder

I myself used Zoloft a long with Buspar. I know of lots of people who have tried Zoloft and half liked and half did not. Try Lexapro and Your B vitamins.

Either is effective as is Xanax.
However be aware that one of the most prevalent side effects of Zoloft is a decrease in libido. In that it will take away all desire and enjoyment in sex.

Whichever you decide to go with, please couple it with counseling so that you will be able to eventually get off the meds.

It is a personal preference,, different medications work differently on people. you need to try one for awhile and if it doesn't work well on you try the other,,, but don't give up if neither works KEEP trying until you get it right... Good Luck
