hello,
i have the same problem, you 're definitly not alone, how old are you?
well, it's been 5 years now that i can't stop thinking about someone i have known before who was my soulmate.
although i have moved on with my life, met other people (im with someone new now) i have periods of time when i can't stop thinking about this person, it's like that person is totally haunting me like someone who is dead, and i have hard to talk about it with my other friends because for them it would be logic that by now i should have forgotten about him.
i guess there are people who will stay on your mind forever, people who really left a mark in you, good memories or else.
it's not somethign bad, as long as it doesn't kill you.
if it starts to hurt really really bad then you should seek for counselling, talk to somebody about it so then you get it all out.
if it's only the beginning then it's normal to still think of her, if you still think of her after one year then maybe it's time you talk to someone.
i never did, and maybe i should have but i can live with the memory of him, i've past the bad stages when you cry all the time etc...now it's just a memory.
good luck but know that you're not alone feeling like this.
++

The best cure for that is to date other girls. You have to risk rejection by asking them out, but trust me it will make you feel better. Also, just being with other people, exercise, sunshine and eating right all help lift any type of depression.

I am NOT an expert but it sounds like you need to go to a therapist to help you work out some issues. It does not mean you are crazy or anything, but therapist can help you work out long term depression issues. Also psychaitrists can give you meds on a short term basis as well. There are resources out there to help you. Please take advantage of them. Good luck!

Get someone new. There are too many single people out there not to find someone who will make you happy. Life is too short to be depressed over being single. Get out and mingle.

My mom had a similar reaction once I advised her i became being abused as a youthful teen. you could desire to talk to a college counselor approximately it, no count if or no longer your chum needs you to. in spite of if it makes her hate you, you would be severely increasing her high quality of existence with the help of having her help.

Try to find other things to occupy your mind. Time heals all wounds, but the first love will always come back to mind occasionally.

The last time I checked, there are about a couple billion other girls out there. I'm sure in time one of them will help you get over it.
