haha! Of course you can. It just means the job isn't temporary, for a set period of time. Permanent positions normally require both sides to give a set period of notice if the person is to leave. It's normally a month but can be longer - my last job required me to give three months' notice, for instance.

You can always leave, and they can let you go, unless you have some kind of contract - then there would likely be penalties if you left during the term of the contract.
Permanent here just means indefinite time, not temporary. Most savvy employers have dropped the use of "permanent" in job ads since it implies forever, which isn't likely what they are offering.

Generally, it means that you will always have part time position there unless they needed someone to work full time. If you wish to leave the company, certainly you can unless it specifies in a contract that you have to be employed with them for a number of months or years.
