Usually, upon checking in - You would be required to pay a fee for the third person. However, if you sneak them in - Usually nothing is ever said.

The only real instance that might receive repercussions is if you leave an absurd mess or something of the like (i.e. loud party resulting in complaints) for the house keeping staff - It is not unlikely that a maid will let the front desk know that you have an additional guest in the room.

If this occurs, you will be charged a fee of about $20 - $40.00 US, Depending on the star level and price of the hotel.

We do this all the time, but with five people in a room for four. We normally send two people to check in, and then they go to the room. Then one goes back to tell the rest where the room is, and two people go into the room. So far, we have three people in the room. Then the final two people go in, complete with an extra pillow. We haven't been caught yet!

The reason we do it is because we think it's slightly unreasonable to have to pay double for an extra room with only one, extremely lonely person in it! My brother, sister and I sleep on the king-sized bed and then my parents get the twin beds.

You could try the same kind of thing. I don't know what would happen if you were caught - nothing probably. It's not as if they'll barge in on you unexpectedly anyway.

It all depends on how strict the hotel are.

Some will throw all 3 out for breaking the contract you have with them, some charge a supplement, and some won't care.

If you get caught by the hotel, they will probably try to charge you for the third person - so don't get caught!!!
