Don't go to sleep at 5 a.m.-stay awake no matter how tired you get until the evening and then collapse at the hour you want to reschedule to.

It will be hard. Try going to sleep a little earlier every night. Say 4:30 then 4:00. You can even stretch it over weeks. Like go to bed at 4:30 this week, then 4:00 next week.

Well I usually went to bed at 10 or 11pm. But about a couple months ago my husband switched to working graveyards, he is doing 7/12. It was hard to switch to in the beginning but now I'm a pro, I go to bed at 7am and now I get up at 4pm. Take a nap if you have to but stay up at long as you have to and then sleep until you have to get up. Eventually it will become natural.

Go to bed at the time you want to get back on track at. Force yourself. And a half hour before you go to bed take a melatonin pill. These are all natural and are designed to change your inner sleep clock naturally. You will be tired for 3 days I guarantee your body will try to tell you when you are tired and will tell you take a nap- but don't wait it out. Stay up and go to sleep when YOU want to- menatlly not physically.
I had this problem when I went to Japan. The time difference was so wild that I found myself up and bouncing at 3-4 am!! I guess you have reverse jet lag! lol So take one swift alcoholic drink if needed to settle down and try to get back on track. But those melatonin pills worked wonders for me.
cheers! :)

well at first you could try sleeping tablets
and then gradually come off them
take the bulb out of your bedroom light
remove (or just unplug) anything that might get you to stay up
dont read
get into bed
close your eyes and dont think about anything
you will fall asleep faster than you think
good luck

Stay up for like 24-48 hours until you are so tired you hit the bed at 9pm instead of 5am....if you feel it is too much of a problem you may want to see a doctor.

i have this problem ..but i also work nights so its not like i can fix it ...but ....what you have to do is...make someone come over to get you up and then go do something at like 9am, or schedule something you know you have to go to then you wont be able to turn your alarm off....any way you should be tired by the end of the day and be able to sleep on a regular schedule....Hope this helps..

The use of supplemental meletonin in blind individuals have shown abilities to alter sleep schedule and training -- you may want to start with that.
I'd say . . . about an hour before I wanted to go to sleep, I'd take some meletonin, benadryl, and valerian root. . . .
