I have four dogs and a paved patio area, so I have to clean regularly. I use bleach in hot water and brush it away with a yard brush. It does a pretty good job.

Dilute bleach in a bucket of water. The smell is probably coming from between the slabs if they aren't concreted in place. If it's really bad, you need to use quite a strong solution & scrub it with a stiff yard brush. Bleach won't harm the plants if is it's not neat. Make sure you rinse it all off - some dogs get sore paws, but it's still better than Jeyes fluid which can cause eye irritations - and it smells like old public loos too!!

Use the thin bleach which you can get for a few pence a bottle from Tesco's. Pour it straight on neat and leave it. If it gets on the plants, because it's thin bleach you can use a tiny amount of water to rinse it off.

Also. try Jeyes (I know you already tried it) on a piece of matting, such as a towel. Soak the towel in neat Jeyes and leave it over the smelly area! That way you can control where it goes and the smelly area will get a very concentrated dose!

Jetwashing is also highly effective yet I would be concerned that the jet would rip up your plants.

everybody is correct in what they are suggesting, just make sure you treat the immediate area with a neat solution (to tackle the smell) but before it gets too close to the plants put loads of water over it so it dilutes as long as it very diluted it wont affect the plants.
or you could always use a natrual cleaning product with no chemicals in it.

baking soda
vinegar
lemon juice
salt
vegetable based soap

I use the above my self these and are listed on wikipedia too. ones below i found on wikipedia i have not tried these
washing soda
mineral oil
borax

There's a product on the market called " Petfresh Urine-Off."
I use it all the time and it really works. It immediately takes the smell of urine away and leaves a nice fresh odour.
You can buy a small Spray Bottle for smaller areas and it comes in larger drums which can be diluted for patio and yard areas.

I know a lot of Breeders who use it for their Kennels. It is completely safe for puppies.

Go to www.petfresh.co.uk for more information.

Hope this helps you.

jeyes fluid it has a very strong pungent smell and will mask most smells then overlay that with a hint of lemon or orange something to lighten the smell of the jeyes fluid but i suppose its better than dog pee

A friend of mine breeds Lab's and he swears by Listerine mouth wash. 1 part Listerine to 1 part water in a spray bottle. He sprays everything down with it. For stronger smells/stains, he pours it on straight. But he says it has to be the original Listerine.

pressure washer and jeyes fluid works. Or even the jeyes on its own, rinse well though
