Maybe. Stewart will be Stewart and I think Hamlin has the idea he should be the champ and maybe already has an inflated ego. Maybe instead of working together as a team on the track there is too much competition in the garage that the fans don't know about?
But really, no one knows for sure except for the people at Gibbs Racing. And things start happening when someone is thinking about leaving.... look at Brian Vickers last year and Busch this year when they left Hendrick. ???? Maybe.

I don't think anything is wrong at JGR. Tony is my driver and I like Denny as well. It was just one of those things and Tony was very frustrated and as we all know he says what's on his mind. He should have been allowed to cool down before he was interviewed.
I think the fault of that wreck is more on Tony than Denny. If Denny was about to lose the car then he should have moved up out of the way. And Tony could have backed off a little in the turn. I'm sure they are cool with each other by now.

So when you're on interstate and the car infront of you "unexpectedly" slows down.. Are you going to tell the cops, HEY IT WAS THAT GUYS FAULT!! HE SLOWED DOWN!... C'mon? When you rear-end someone the way Smoke did, Take some damn responsibility. Tony is starting to act like a child...
And Yes, Something is going on @ Joe Gibbs Racing. All the talk is that JJ is out the door, and I will say he is the low man on the talent totem pole right now. BUT, After that interview.. I really think either Tony or Denny may be looking for a ride. It's hard to imagine Tony leaving JGR after 2 titles but stranger things have happened in NASCAR... And letting a young talent like Denny go would be hard too... But something may change sooner than everyone thinks.

I just think Tony is frustrated that he hasnt gotten a win, and hasnt been having the season that he wants to have.
I think Tony needs a few hours in some kind of anger management, otherwise, another bad thing or two happens to him, and I could see him blowing up like a volcano.
And I personally think Denny isnt necessarly at fault. Remember, Daytona is a handling oriented restrictor plate track, unlike Talladega, so maybe Denny got loose out of the turn, and Tony just didnt have the time to react.
Maybe there isnt trouble at Gibbs, just with Tony Stewart.

I really don't get all the negativity towards Denny. I just don't see pointing out the obvious (his crew cost him a shot at at least two wins) as whining. In his position as a driver, more less a team leader, you sometimes have to tell it like it is- and he did.
I really work at liking Stewart. No doubt, he can drive and has a great competitive fire I wish some of my favorites had. Unfortunately, he has a complete inability to control his mouth, and I think it is his complete undoing. saying what he says DIFFERENTLY might earn him a greater respect. Many times he has a good point.
For these two, there's no better team for them to be on than Gibbs. Ol' Coach won't take it for long. Frankly, a little tough love Tony's way might do him some good. Lost in all the contreversy is the fact that he's very solid in the standings. He will get wins if he turns loose of this need to somehow be the "conscience" of NASCAR.

i've followed tony since his usac days. i think there is more to this situation than has been spoken about in public, and i think the aric almirola thing from milwaukee didn't help anything (tony and aric are very good friends).
that being said, i think the incident on the track was like the incident between tony and kurt busch at the 500. it was a racing incident. Tony even admitted it at the 500 it was no one's fault, and no, TONY DID NOT BLAME KURT BUSCH FOR THE 500. i'm not sure tony could have avoided hamlin without wrecking cars behind him. guess we'll never know.
but tony was ABSOLUTELY 150% wrong in making the comments he did. He shouldn't have said them, but then again, what would we be talking about now? the continued saga of cheating at Hendrick Motorsports? HMS should be grateful to tony.

I have noticed that something is not exactly right at Gibbs this year. Tony has not been his usual self this year. He seems to be distracted from racing this year. I think tension is building between Tony and Denny. I don't think it will be long before Tony retires. His heart does not seem to be in it any more.

i am a tony fan as well but in my opinion he has no right to say that it was Denny's fault. in the Daytona 500 the same thing happened when tony got loose and kurt busch ran into him. tony said it was kurts fault and that kurt should have let off the gas, which is exactly what tony should have done with Denny. I dont believe that there is anything wrong at gibbs. tony just needs to just shut up and drive.

I'm going to have to agree with PAPABILL, there has been something brewing at Gibbs since he went back to coaching the Redskins. He needs to step in and get his drivers back in line before Tony gets a reputation like Rusty "I can't work with a team mate" Wallace.

stewart can drive and thats all he has got goin for him...he wrecked hamlin. He should have drafted with him and broke away from the field and passed him clean but oh wait he is tony stewart. hamlin did not slow down. gibbs needs to move on and tony needs to look for another ride..i think he and kyle busch would make good teamates.
