Have big ears or can fan out some body part to dissipate heat.
Nocturnal.
Burrowing.
Though it's true that camels don't stand on two feet, their bodies are high above the hot surface. We've all seen those lizards that alternate standing on two feet and then the other two, and we know they are doing that to minimize contact with the hot surface.
Lots of ideas here.

Here is few:
Preventing the drying: scales, fur, exoskeleton etc. and behavior (burrowing) adapted to keep the moisture in.
Ways to get the available moisture: some beetles gather dew with long hairs on their back - they have special grooves which lead the waterdroplets staright into their mouth.
Tolerance of drying: for example camels can take more waterloss than humans - their cells withstand more concentrated environment and they can secrete more concenrated urine than humans to get rid of harmfull compounds. Some animals and plants can dry out totally and will come back to life after getting water again.
Hibernation: some animals, for example frogs that live in Australian deserts burrow for extensive periods - even years - they hibenate and loose very little energy. When it rains, they wake up, dug up, eat, reproduce and go back hibernating till it rains again.

Why "can stand on two legs"?
Camels can't for a start..
Other than that, I'd say the ability to retain as much fluid as possible in the body (reduced production of urine, ability to lose heat by means other than sweating..), and the ability to close up ears and nose to avoid getting sand in them..
