Depends. I am a stay at home wife, who takes care of all domestics and maintaining my blog. And sometimes, I expend plenty of energy from carrying grocery bags a few trips from my car to my 2nd floor kitchen.

I do more than that of course, to maintain my current weight of 49kg/108lbs. I take brisk walks every weekday morning. I do arm and leg exercises while reading a book.

I am not sure how much calories I expend, but it didn't stop me from eating without counting calories and losing 31 lbs in a year.

All I did was changing my diet to low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein.

Truth is, the answer depends on your BMI (Body Mass Index). Most people think that they need to eat less to become skinny, but the body eventually finds ways to recover that food (the infamous raiding of the fridge).
Before trying any new form of nutrition or physical exercise, I advice you to consult your family doctor and a nutritionist to get the best results.
good luck!

2000.

1500 minimum.

It's not about calories. It's about fat content, salt content.

Just eat healthily. Work out. And you'll have a great body in no time.
