In ancient Israel, the name Bethlehem (house of bread) was given to many Jewish settlements, the most famous was near Jerusalem, were it still is, and was probably the birth place of the Hebrew king David, about 1000 years B.C.
but there is a place in the Galilee, just a few kilometers away from the city of Nazareth, which was a Jewish settlement by the name of Bethlehem (of the Galilee) at the time Jesus was born. I think that is the real place where he was born, in the village of Bethlehem of the Galilee, near Nazareth.

He was born in Bethlehem, but there may very well have been two towns with that name, one in what is now the Palestinian territory and the other very close to Nazareth itself.

The traditional one is approximately 80 miles away from Nazareth, and is named the City of David on the premise that King David lived there centuries before.

The Old Testament states the prophecy that the Messiah will be born in Bethlehem by descendants of David. In Daniel, it also gives the time period of this event. Jesus fit into both prophecies, that were written hundreds of years before his birth. I do not know the distance however.

Hi sweetie,

He was born in Bethlehem, according to what my grandmother said.

It has been disputed for ever that Jesus was actually born in the spring not the winter. But when the church took over and was trying to convert the pagans they took christmas and made it around the same time of year as the pagan Sabbat yule.

Other than that I really don't know.

I don't know what the distance Nazareth from Bethlehem is but I know that Bethlehem is the place where Jesus was born, in a humble stable. He was raised in Nazareth, explaining the INRI on His cross. It translates to "Jesus of Nazareth, King of Jews", with the N as Nazarenum or something. Hope that helps! :)

Go to http://www.watchtower.org and type in the search box:

"Where was Jesus born"

Hope this was helpful. I do know that he died when he was 33 and a half years old; at about late March early April according to the Nisen Jewish Calendar which falls around March to early April by our calendars. Count back 6 months from late March--early April.

See why Santa Claus is such a lie; meaning December 25?

The truth will set you free. Lies befall so many and Satan is the father of the lie...he knows how to spin his deceitful web to fool so many. Thing is, so many love the lies and love being fooled. Go figure...

If u accept Him as your personal saviour, u can go with Him to heaven. otherwise....pls visit http://www.av1611.org/hell.html and know the truth
