If christianity is suppose to be the only religion and the right religion then why is it that most of those "good" christians are such hipocrits? The bible says that God is the only judge, then why are so many christians the first ones to judge others, and decide what is right and wrong, when they took most of their beliefs and practices from the pagans centeries ago? And it is those same ones that are always out to "save" everyone's soul instead of worring about their own, Im not judgeing, just curious?

You know when ever a question about religion is present evry one comes out of their hair.
It's weird to see how so many get so offensive and while there are those who are just layed back.
You can call me ignorant or what ever you want but it was a good question, and look how many people responded.
But when you get all on the offensive about "YOURSELVES", not christians in general, but your personal self it's funny.
I happen to actually be a devoted christian, I volunteer at my churches Sunday school program, I am helping with our Vacation bible school, and seeing as my dad is a Chaplin, I am at church twice a week if not more.
So YES I do know about religion, but setting in the church every week and seeing the same people, "The Ones I am asking about" made me start wondering.

Hi sweetie,
Being a witch I have faced my share of ridicule from the Christians who think their way is the right way and all other are hell bound. At the same time though they are entitled to their own beliefs no matter how right or wrong they may be.
Personally I think that it doesn't matter how much you preach or go to church or confess your sins, if your wicked enough to judge another person because of race, gender, sexual orientation, etc... then you deserve to burn in "hell" if such a place exists...
And for the girl who asked about the things catholics took from the pagans, the concept of their holidays the festivals of the pagans became days for the Saints and Jesus, the cross symbol was originally a Celtic symbol changed by the church, and they took away a religious groups way of life and forced their own on them. Reform or die is not exactly asking nicely.

do you understand Christianity? The entire premise of Christianity is no one is perfect. that is exactly why the Atonement of Christ is necessary to pay for our sins. No one but Christ has ever been perfect. But the key is to love each other despite imperfections. and lift people to a higher level when we can.
Next, have you read the Bible? it never says God is the only judge. Christ said that the Apostles would judge the House of Israel. He commanded everyone to judge righteously in the Gospel of John. Heck there is an entire book called Judges where God calls men to judge and lead the Israelites. The idea that the Bible is against people judging is a myth perpetuated by those who know if they are judged they will be found guilty.
Also, Christians dont decide whats right and wrong. God does. have a problem with that? take it up with Him. He makes the rules.
Finally. They are always out to save others because the second you feel the love of God in your life and the cleansing power the Atonement has you begin to care about others and want them to experience the Love of God personally as well. You cant help but worry for them because you care about them.

That's PEOPLE, not the religion. When everyone else in the world becomes perfect, the Christians are sure going to be in trouble!
Basically what I'm saying is, no one is perfect. We're all hypocritical and judgemental sometimes. It isn't anyone's fault but our own. We can't blame religion.
And which beliefs/practices did Christians take from the pagans? To my knowledge, the only thing that early Christians adopted was some of the dates.

Hey man,
You know I have often wondered that myself. Christians claim to be so good, but look at what a stink they raise on the issues of Gay's and Freakin Harry Potter, I mean get over it. None of it is bothering you so deal with saving your own soul and leave everyone else alone.
The Bible says let ye who is with out sin cast the first stone, in this world there would be no one there to throw that first stone, none!

Not a Christian but I will field this one. The thing is that if you consider the human race, you have to accept the fact that most of us are looking to a group to belong to, in order for us to feel superior to others, in an effort to give the rasberry to those that are different is some infitessimally small way. "I go to church, I'm saved.....Nyah Nyah Nyah Nyah Nyah!" Is more or less it. Some appropriate retorts: "Pride goeth before the fall", "Judge not..lest ye be judged!" or one of my personal favorites: "Whatever happened to loving thy neighbor mother ******?" You have to remember, no matter how holier than thou some of them are, no matter how much they pray, no matter how much money they gave to Jimmy Swaggart because they think he isn't pocketing it and buying yachts, it will not change a moron to smart nor an asshole to an agreeable person. Believing doesn't unmake a good deal of them idiots.

IM not. Your ignorant. The bible tells us to use spirtual discernment! How can we discern what is right or wrong, if we dont JUDGE it?! The bible tells us to jugde RIGHTEOUS judgement. I believe a wife should be in subjection to her husband, and I am. A mother should be a mother to her children and I am. A christian should go to church every time the doors are open, and I do. A christian shouldnt go to the movies or watch Tv, and I dont. A chrisitan shouldnt go anywhere with drinking, and I dont. A women shouldnt wear pants, and I dont. How then, am I a hypocrit?

Why does everyone put people in a box ? I'm a christian, I don't try to save anyones soul, I share what I know if asked. I try not to judge, it's not my job,it's Gods. To put it simply, I got enough to worry about keeping myself right in Gods eyes without trying to take on a job I'm not qualified to do. Jesus saves, I just share the Word with those who ask.

Good question, have been wondering that myself. They say it is the people not the religion, if that's the case then why is that this religion is the one so highly talked about with its closed minded and arrogant ways.
Glad to see some one has the guts to say what we all think.

First of all, you are stereotyping Christians by saying most "good" Christians are hypocrits. However, you are right about some Christians judging others, and I (a Christian) have a problem with that myself. I am working and praying that I get better. Remember, Christians are not perfect...just forgiven. God bless you my friend.

I ask the same question, but not on yahoo answers. But anyways, my guess is because they are so into being Christ like that they lose reality of who they really are. It is a nasty experience to have them judge you when you are seeking the meaning of God in a Christianity sense.
