because religions are man made God wants us to worship him in spirit and truth. Christianity should be about a relationship with Jesus not following men's rules.

From what I understand there is a fundamental difference between Christianity and 'religion'.
Religion is mans way of reaching God.
Christianity is Gods way of reaching man.

I would also like to point out that if the main person from each religion was removed then the rules, structures and covenants are still in place. You can still run a society based on what was said no matter who said it. This is not true with Christianity however, if Jesus were removed from Christianity then Christianity would have nothing as it relies on both the death/resurrection and the grace that Jesus brought over what He taught.

Christianity is a religion as these truth were the spiritual visions of the Prophets of old or even today. It is because in human sense, they have a third eye so to speak. This 3rd eye is actually their sense of wonder which is a gift if THE LORD GOD to them. And they see wonderful creations all around them like the light, the planets, the sun and the universe. And the micro world say men living in the billionth- billionth- billionth of a second, yet we do not perceive this time occurring:before our very eyes or a billion, billlion of years which we dont have the opportunity of experience and perceive them as well. And these are only examples of the servants of GOD seeing them with their third eye or their sense of wonder. Thus, at this point in man's history, we have a book of wonder called the Bible and the christianity that it espouses. Additionally, Christianity is a belief of life beyond the grave; a life even unto eternity or eternal life. And THE LORD JESUS CHRIST is the WORD OF GOD about these divine plan for mankind. The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the MESSIAH who have redeemed mankind from eternal death or damnation. HE is mankind's savior. For witnesses other than Christians, the Prophet Mohammad in a vision was brought by Archangel Gabriel to heaven and saw THE LORD JESUS CHRIST standing in the right hand of GOD; while Mohammad remained with the audience in a heavenly assembly among the Prophets. St John the baptist was also a witness of THE LORD JESUS CHRIST when he declared HIM as THE LAMB OF GOD who takes away the sins of mankind. And another witness is the Prophet Isaiah 9:6 that states that the one who will be born of a virgin woman will be called MIGHTY GOD, WONDERFUL, COUNSELOR (HOLY SPIRIT), EVERLASTING FATHER and PRINCE OF PEACE. These are one of the many reasons that one should believe the Bible and Christianity as well. THANKS GOD; FEAR GOD; PRAISE GOD; GLORIFY GOD; HONOR GOD; LOVE GOD AND WORSHIP GOD. It is amazing that many people who tried to answer your question haven't got a clue. I agree with you--Christianity can not, or rather should not, be looked at as a religion. I don't think God ever intended it to be that way.

Christianity was meant to be a faith based movement devoid of religious exclusiveness where all could take part learning about, and even accepting Christ as their lord and savior. No pressure.

Well, I don't know what you're alluding to, but christianity isn't a religion because it's an umbrella term for a multitude of religions.

It,s called the new and living way(to God that is) living because Christ is alive, a Person who mediates for us religion i.e rites and ceremony, sacraments are no longer a valid approach to God,hence the curtain in the temple was rent in twain showing that all priesthood is abolished except Christ,s. come to him directly He,s made a way for you

That is true.
Did you noticed that all the Bibles and books from god in most religions are translated, besides Islam.

Maybe you should look more and see about Islam.
Here's a good site i've been reading on lightly.

Christianity is not a works religion like all the rest of the religions. It's not a bunch of rules and regulations and do's and don'ts and if you do more of the good deeds than the bad deeds then you go to heaven and if you're heavy on the bad deeds then you go to hell and God just sort of grades on a curve. Good deeds(according to the bible) can never get anyone to heaven. Only sinless perfection gets a person to heaven(not practically but legally). But that is no longer impossible since Christ has paid for our sins. From a legal standpoint we are perfect because every sin we ever have committed or ever will commit has been paid for by Christ. The only real question is will you accept what He has done for you on the cross. Christianity, unlike all the other religions is a supernatural relationship. It says that if you acknowledge that you are a sinner and need a savior and you accept what Jesus did for you on the cross as your savior and ask Him to come into your heart, He will come into your heart. Also, He sends the Holy Spirit to live inside you. He gives you spiritual life so that you can have a personal relationship with God. In Christianity, God is not unknowable and distant and infinitely unapproachable. God wants to have a personal relationship with you. It is a dialogue. You speak to Him in prayer. He speaks back to you through His Word(The Bible) and also through your daily experiences. You come to know Him and trust Him in your daily walk. There also is assurance of eternal life, which is also unknown in other religions. 1John 5:13 says " I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may KNOW that you have eternal life". Notice that it says KNOW. It doesn't say think, hope or wish. What Christ did on the cross was to open the way to God to anyone who really wants it enough to turn their life over to Christ. 1Peter 3:18 says "For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, in order that He might BRING US TO GOD, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit";
It is open to anyone. John3:16 says"For God so loved the WORLD, that He gave His only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life". Mathew 11:28-30 says "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.
"Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and YOU SHALL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.
"For My yoke is easy, and My load is light."
The only question is "What do you think of Christ"(Mathew 22:42).

Because at it's core it is not about what you do. It is about what He did. 'It is finished'. Religion says 'If you do___, then God..." the Gospel says "because of what Christ did, you..." that is why is is 'good news' for all humanity. You don't have to earn it , just receive what has already been done and live to say thank-you. and that can not be organized or legislated.
