According to this BAC, if I had 4 oz of 80 proof tequila over the course of one hour, my blood-alcohol content would be over 0.5% (I'm 107 lbs) which is near death. That couldn't be right, could it?

No, it says 0.5%, check it yourself. I've gotten different numbers on other calculators, but this one has me scared to drink. I just want half a cup of tequila with diet coke, that's all.

It sounds very wrong - especially because someone seems to have claimed that they can calculate someone's blood alcohol based simply on alcohol consumed and weight. Everyone processes alcohol differently, and even the same person will give different results on different days when consuming the same amount of alcohol over the same time period. As I understand it, the only way to know for sure is to measure blood alcohol content. And 0.5% is a crazy-high number - could it have been 0.05%?

Your stats are wrong.

4 ounces of alchol for women in 1 hour is supposed to get you legally drunk. Which is around .08-.10.

.50 takes a hell of lot more then 4 shots. More like 20 shots in a hour.

I dunno ... it doesn't seem right. I weigh twice what you do and If I consumed 2x the alcohol in the same time period (which is pretty normal for me, actually) I may be pretty buzzed, but nowhere near death. Their scale has me at almost 2x the legal limit. I don't think their program is correct.

You might not be near death, but you'll feel like it in the morning.
