The Rosary is not a piece of jewelry.
The Rosary is a tool that can be used by anyone in prayer.
The Rosary is rarely worn. Some religious sisters in habits wear them.
If you choose to wear a Rosary then remember to behave accordingly. Just like wearing a Cross or Crucifix, you are telling the world that you believe in and are trying to live the Gospel message.
With love in Christ.

Understand that, first and foremost, the Rosary is a tool that helps people pray. Rosaries are no specifically Catholic. They make Protestant Rosaries as well, the only difference, as far as I can tell, being that instead of a crucifix there is plain cross. And then there are Rosay rings which, I believe, account for one decade's worth of Rosary praying.
It's not wrong to wear Rosaries or Rosary rings as long as you do so as a statement of faith. If you're wearing it merely because it looks nice, this won't suffice. As long as your intention is to make a subtle but firm statement of belief in Christian heritage - by all means wear the Rosary Ring.

It is acceptable to wear a rosary ring. However, many are fairly bulky arrangements; I've seen only a few that were properly designed as wearable rings.
While I think wearing it on a necklace will boil down to personal choice, I think I'd find it in less than the best taste, but all the same, if you're doing it to honor the gift-giver and because you like the ring but do not like wearing rings, I certainly wouldn't stop you and chew you out for wearing it on a necklace.

If you are using it it in an offensive manner, please stop.
If it were me, I wouldn't wear a Star of David or a pentacle as an adornment without knowing what it means and without believing in it.
The Rosary ring is meant to be used as a praying tool, but if you feel it's OK to wear it as jewelry you should. That's the beauty of living in a free country.
