Most ministers do not teach the details of Noah and the flood. Quite simply, Noah is more popular because it makes a good children's story.

Genesis 6:19-20 says two of every kind, while Genesis 7:2 says seven of a kind. And Genesis 7:9 still says two by two. No matter what it really means, it certainly gives Children's book illustrators artistic license to draw pairs of every animals.

====Edit=====

Oops, I forgot to mention your Pangea point. Pangea really goes back farther than Noah. Even if you take the story literally, the breaking up of Pangea would be better attributed to the flood (The theory of Catastrophism.)

Creation based Catastrophism can explain how all the different animals could get to Noah and his Ark, but explaining that the tower of Babel broke it up seems to much of a stretch.

The real question is, "why is anyone teaching anything about the Flood being remotely accurate anymore?"

i love how you throw out that scientifically inclined phrase. Where exactly is this Pangea reference? And why is there no scientific backing of the continents being joined so recently?

There are trees older than the Flood buddy, and the population growth wouldn't work for ancient Egypt, and if the entire earth were covered in water, the air would be far too moist for anyone to breathe it, and it would be very difficult to keep that many animals alive, and afterward, they would have had to migrate across the world to their modern homes where they appear to have resided for millions of years, without ever eating each other or plants that hadn't grown yet of course.

I could go on, but i'm tired. Read for yourself, Noah's Ark is a myth. And if not, God is a baby-killer. In addition to the percentage of pregnancies that naturally terminate before women realize they were ever pregnant, i'm talkng about the babies that were alive during the Flood.

It is the easiest way. Would people be pleased if they heard the story of Noah told this way--"Well, we know there was a big flood. We know God told a man named Noah to build a boat and fill it with animals so that they would survive the flood. We think he took two of every kind, but we have a group of scholars working on determining if he took two, three, or more of each species. We'll keep you posted on their findings, and get back to you on what you should believe"?? Do the specifics really matter? It would be a monumental waste of energy and brainspace for many people to even consider this version of the story. Point is, does it really matter in our day-to-day lives? Same goes for the "wise men"--what if there were four, not three?? Just think of all the arguments that would arise if churches presented Bible stories with some ambiguous parts. Nothing would ever get done, they'd all be arguing over meaningless technicalities!!

Two of every species of living things on this planet weighs over 100 million tons. Noah would have needed an Arc a few miles long. Religion knows that this story is not the word of God but they insist that the followers believe that it is while they pass around a collection basket.

is this similar to how behemoth is a dinosaur? honestly, you people will see whatever you want to see. when will you give up your silly practice of trying to put round pegs in square holes?

pangaea formed some 250 million years ago. it was not the first supercontinent, it won't be the last, and there were no humans alive at the time. its relationship to genesis is roughly as tenuous as the intergalactic medium.

Ministers are not teaching it of their own will it is the word of GOD dearie. And why still teach it? Well the word of GOD will last forever.
Gen 6:19 And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.
Gen 6:20 Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive.

Gen 7:2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.

Gen 7:9 There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.

Gen 7:15 And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life.

Hope this answers the question.Keep in mind that when reading the Bible it is always wise to read the chapter before and after the one you are interested in.

"Super Continent "Pangea" ,"

conjecture, and not supported by any fact. Noah's time is documented by the civilisations surrounding them at the time and it is NOT when pangea was around.

soemone tried to argue that if he had taken tworavens and one never cameback...why do we have ravens? because he didn't take two of every animal. of the flying creatures among others...he took seven.

. 2 Of every clean beast you must take to yourself by sevens, the sire and its mate; and of every beast that is not clean just two, the sire and its mate; 3 also of the flying creatures of the heavens by sevens, male and female, to preserve offspring alive on the surface of the entire earth. 4 For in just seven days more I am making it rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and I will wipe every existing thing that I have made off the surface of the ground.” 5

So he took even more on that little ark. So are you trying to convince me this did or didn't happen, because you're leaning towards didn't.
