If the benefit of talking to plants is the CO2 they get, has anyone heard of any studies to test if farting on plants will also make them grow better?

That's a valid SCIENTIFIC QUESTION if you can define the specific composition of "farting" which is usually thought to be methane. In science, we need to be precise in defining what we mean--just as you've pointed out that "talking" is another way of saying "providing plants with CO2," your question might be rephrased as to what extent plants can metabolize CO2 from methane. This may require some sophisticated apparatus for working with gases and measuring metabolism in plants! This question might even have some environmental significance!

CO2 has no odor. This is not true for methane.

Maybe if you light the farts you can procue CO2 with the flame.

i think farting is better. plants get not only co2 but other essential gases like nitrogen. it's good for them, it's good for you. go for it man, fart, fart fart.
