I tried my share of mind altering substances prior to beginning to meditate. I loved buttons, shrooms, bud. They opened windows of perception for me that seriously changed my outlook forever.
When I started having some very altered experiences in meditation, it was familiar ground, and those previous states allowed me to skyrocket in meditation.
FYI - this may sound crazy -but of well - I have had such majorly altered experiences from meditation, it makes the best all day shroom look like a walk in the park.
So anyway, yes, I'm all for it.

Actually marijuana was used spirtialy by a group of midevil shia islams the Hassan-i-Sabah. Thats where it gets the name hash from, because a Hashshashin( a hassan-i-sabah assasin) would smoke it before he would go to war.

It has been used since the dawn of time in rituals by our ancestors, just like datura...
There are many Indonesian and Sth American cultures who are isolated from civilisation who still use drugs as part of their ceremonies..

This is a substance that God said you should not put into your body along with alcohol and other things. If my kids were to choose to try these things, I would not like it to be alcohol, It (literally) makes one lose their mind.
