Well my whole teen years i always found my legs to be muscular and bigger then the rest of my body. My thighs r big and when im standing they feel hard. But i want to lose my extra weight i have. I want to lose about 15 pounds and i was thinkin about justrunning the treadmill everyday for half an hour. i dont NEED to lose it, but id feel better about myself and healthier. But some ppl are telling me to not run so much becuz i might gain more muscle. Is that true? or will the fat go before muscle is gained..? ty :)

btw, if you jogged half an hour everyday for 2 weeks, approx how much would u lose?

cardio is the only fat burning exercise (running, jogging, cycling etc) - do it for 30-50min 4-6 times a week (preferably 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat)
if you dont do weight training you will not gain much muscle (treadmill will just add some definition to your legs)

Since you already have muscular thighs, you will probably gain more muscle by running everyday, but muscle tissue is good. It burns fat much faster than fatty tissue. Muscle tissue is also more compact than fat.

So many things factor into weight loss, it's impossible to predict. But taking a stab at it, I'd guess you'll lose around 5 pounds in two weeks assuming no other changes are made. About 2 lbs. per week is a healthy rate of weight loss. If you have a high metabolism, it could be more. If it's low, it would obviously be less. Most of the "weight" change you may see in such a short amount of time will be water weight. It could return as quickly as it was lost. I know the desire for instant gratification firsthand, but unfortunately, it rarely happens that way....especially when you get older like me. : (

Build Ripped Muscle Fast

For the average sized person you would burn a little over 200 calories jogging for half an hour. 200 calories X 14 days = 2800 calories burned. One pound is equal to 3500 calories therefore you would probably lose about 0.80 pounds.

Lean muscle burns fat so it is important to have muscles. Running or jogging would be great cardio and cardio is what burns those calories. If you are really concerned about building more muscle in your legs don't run on an incline. For long, lean, toned muscles that aren't bulky consider looking into pilates. If you really want to lose weight you need to do cardio, a weight training program, and watch your diet.

Good luck!

Doing cardio won't help you build muscle it helps you lose muscle unless your diet is good. Your going to want to lose fat, your right, but having that muscle makes sure that the fat to be burned , because muscle is the place where fat is burned.
