Chances are great, yes. How can he completely function on a team right now when he's trying to get himself into the race as well as his other drivers. Mickey needs to hang that one up. I think if he put everything into just soley being a team owner, you would start to see improvement in the next year or two.

The basic plan for Michael Waltrip racing was good and simple.Get a hotshot young driver a past champion and a stable driver and run consistantly.
But the lack of a proven motor on a new team with a new car nearly delt a death blow.
Quailifing should have been first priority.Get in the show and make a solid showing.Aim for top 10 finishes.Get a consistant run going.
Now look how close the top 5 is go for there. Now you are knocking on the door to a win.
Well that was not their plan.Get a team,Put the drivers in and win, pressure from the sponsors..
NASCAR is not just on track competition but the right moves of personel. The developement of R&D program. We the fans only see the events on the track but in the work a day world of the teams there are things going on we never see.\
Any hope for the team yes.All 3 teams have to work together. All 3 have to be there for each other.
As long a MWR puts cars into the events they will survive.

Obviously, Toyota will improve, as they will have a year of racing under their belt. Michael Waltrip and his racing team? Only if Michael Waltrip retires, or finds a way to have someone help him with the team a lot more. Its been proven that owner/drivers in the NASCAR world today can not succeed, and im sure driving, and worring about two other cars is just stress beyond anyone's imagination.

They are just fine. I hope Mikey stays and I believe he will. It takes a while to develop a program. But look at the truck series after 3 years they now win 51% of the races. Nascar really screwed them by making them develop a new engine. Hmmmm!! why was that?? By the way, in the Busch series, all 3 of the regular drivers are in the top 5 running the engine the Cup series outlawed. Coincidence?? I think not!!
Don't forget at Daytona when other teams and manufactures made the statement, "no matter what don't help another manufacturer."
Plus, how many times have you seen Toyota drivers get into wrecks that were mysteriously caused by someone else??
That's ok, their time will come. They can't keep Toyota down. We are now in the top 35 with Blaney.
As a side note, with me being retired Military some believe I should back so called "American" vehicles. I grew up in Detroit and in 1987 why I was in the Military not one so called "American" dealer would give me the time of day. Toyota did and they gave me a special for being in the Military and it really was a great deal. I have relatives who work at the car plants and I laugh at them. Who gave me an opportunity to buy my first vehicle?? Who treated me with respect??
Any way great question. Go number 55, 44, 00, 22, 36, 83, 84

I think they will provided they can find a decent driver. Being out of from behind the wheel may be his calling (as a teem owner). I believe it is only a matter of time before Toyota puts some cars in there that will intimidate a lot of other organizations. They have already shaken up the automobile industries with cars an trucks that last 300,000+ miles of life. If they can build a high performance engine that performs the same way on track then look out.

Very doubtful. I think that the only one with potential is Dave Blaney and Brian Vickers out of all the Toyotas. I mean David Reutimann is an okay driver, and then Dale Jarrett is a past champion and everything but I just dont see him doing anything as he is probably going to retire sometime soon. Then Michael well he's just Mikey and hasn't been doing very well for the past couple of years so who knows...

Don't get me wrong I like Michael but, he's not much of a driver. It took 464 races to get a win. Then it was at a restrictor plate race where being in the right place at the right time can give you the win. As far as Toyota goes I hope they never do anything and drop out. Nascar is an American Sport and it should stay American. I don't care how many plants they build in the US. It's still a Japanese company.

Tommy- Toyota is just as American made anymore is the so-called "American" cars.
It'a just a matter of time before they get better. As they do, I expect Brian Vickers, Dave Reutimann or David Blaney will be in the cockpit. I don't think Mikey's the problem. The cars just aren't up to snuff yet.....but they will be, mark my words.
