I've noticed there are SO MANY anti-Catholics on this board. I guess I've never been exposed to that, having been in Catholic school most of my life, but I'm trying to understand why? What do you know about my religion that I don't?
I'm not trying to mean or anything, I would just like to know.

Elena, catholics don't think all gays should go to hell. all the gay people at my catholic school were treated with respect because that's what we believe.

Let see maybe when the nun's at school told me when I was 6 that I was going to burn in hell because my mom was preganat with me before I was born(something I didd'nt know). Bashing my left hand when I tried to write with it saying it was the hand of the devil. Confessing my sin's to a priest and if at 8yrs old I had been good and did'nt have anything to confess they would tell me all little girls sin. To put it mildly left me pretty screwed up. Thankfully it only took 40yrs to relize why I was so screwed up. And I did find my way back to God. I hope catholic school has improved for your sake. Read the bilble and compair to the catholic teachings some how a few things got alittle twisted. But don't give up on The Lord, I trust his teachings more than mans.

Please don't be offended but the thing I dislike the most about the Catholic religion is their wealth. They even have their own bank for goodness sake! The pope wears jewels, rings and necklaces ect. One of those rings would feed a third world country for a year, at least! This bothers me. The thing I like the best about the Catholic faith is that they acknowledge the Divine Feminine in the Mother Mary. But the whole wealth of the Catholic Church, if it were ever truly revealed, would no doubt shock the world!

They put mary the mother of Jesus before Jesus and the Father and the Holy Spirit. They pray to mary. They confess to another man, of there sins believeing that he can forgive them of their sins. They pray for the dead, and pay for the dead to get to cross over into heaven. They bow down and kiss a man's ring. They are not allowed to ask questions about the scriptures being taught. They go through alot of religious acts at church, they live by alot of religious laws made by the church. They think the more money you give to the priest and the church, that this will increase your chances of going to heaven. They think that there is actually holy water, and it can bless you or your house. There are more little boys molested in the Catholic Church by priest than anywhere else. All of these things are sins and taught against in the Bible.

I don't believe in any Christian doctrines, but as a Witch, I have a particular dislike of Catholicism. It has to do with thousands like me being burned and hanged for nothing. Nothing! Those people were innocent and they were butchered.
Lest we forget...
I didn't mean to get riled up on you and I know it isn't your fault and it is all in the past. However, Catholics and other Christians still revile us, and that I take personally as a continuing affront to my beliefs.

For starters, Priests and Nuns. What is that all about? A secret gay society masked with religion that preaches against homosexuality? The Bible is second to the chatecism . . . sitting, standing, kneeling . . . And which way do you make the sign of the cross again? And why do my fingers burn when I dip them into that water in the front door?

im a catholic myself. what i do not like in this religion are some doctrines/teachings that arent biblical. if the bible is the heart and soul of this faith, therefore every teachings should come from the bible and nothing else. what it saddens me is that they infused dogmas and other addendums coming from the vatican.
the sign of the cross, for instance, is there any catholic out there that could tell me where in the bible(whatever version i wouldnt mind at all) it is told that the faithfuls should first do the sign of the cross before praying..?
