Yes there is help out there for you. You have already taken the first step, try going to talk to your doctor (this can be extremely embarassing and scary but try and bear with it). Hopefully your doctor will refer you to a councellor or psychiatrist so you can learn better coping ways. There are also wonderful sites on the internet you can use that offer support from people in the same position as you, try typing into google.

Good luck

There is indeed help for cutters. Definitely try and get help now, when it will be much easier. I've had problems with self-mutilation for a long while now. If I would've gotten the help I needed earlier, I might have been able to have resolved all of the problems that cause me to want to cut. Because I didn't, though, it's very difficult still after 9 years. I have made a lot of progress, but still have a long way to go. Getting help now will undoubtedly help in the long run.

Rock on.

I've had the same problem. For me, i knew this guy who I know was very proud of me for who I was. Everytime I got upset, and felt that I needed to, I remembered that he wouldn't want me to, so I wouldn't. It takes a lot of will power, and I'm glad you want to stop. The problem is, that if you dont stop, it may escalate into something way bigger. You should talk to a trusted adult, parent, teacher, or even friend. If you have someone their with you, it will make things easier, unless you want to see a phyciatrist (sp?) but I dont think you would. Good Luck, and all the best.

you need to see your doctor and get some meds or group therapy. there are safer altenatives to cutting. When you cut yourself it realses endorphins which is what helps make you feel good. You an get these same endorphins from running a marathon or going on a fun roller coaster. you are setting yourself up for serious problems like infection or an accidental death.

Go see a psychiatrist, they're there for a reason. I'm glad you realize it's not healthy.
