Why do women call their girlfriends sweetie?
I have a friend that I haven't had for very long and I wish good things to her and stuff and she called me sweetie for the first time.

We are both girls... what does she mean by it?

Its just an endearment comment. It means nothing more than she is being nice.

Some females use terms of endearment when referring to their good friends or even strangers who've done something nice. It's used towards children as well. Don't worry and definitely don't get homophobic about it. I'm sure she thinks highly of you, that's all.

It means you're a sweetheart and a nice person, but since you're questioning her and being so weird about it, then maybe you're not really that nice (possibly homophobic, are we? shame on you for being so close-minded... and NO, she is not hitting on you. Geez). *shrugs* I call my friends "sweetie" or "sweetheart" sometimes, too. Big deal...

Just a term of endearment or affection. It means nothing more than friendship.

I have no idea, I'm a girl and I think it's annoying..sweetie is meant for younger kids in my thoughts.

She either like you more than a friend...
or it could just be another girl thing...

but you should talk to her about it just in case....so it doesn't get out of hand.

Hope this helped.....
