Personally, I don't think you have to belong to a religion to believe in a higher existence, No 1: every religion thinks they are the only way, confusing isn't it? It is compelling to think waht was before the universe, if some say the universe always existed, why not save a step and say a "designer" always existed? We will NEVER know.....

What if you are wrong and another god is the correct god and because you believed in the false god you will be tortured forever?

There are just too many permutation of imaginary creature to believe, so why bother?

I will not bow down to someone becouse of fear! I will not honor or praise someone because of fear. That makes god no better then a 3rd world dicatator.And not worthy of praise.

obviously some people don't believe in threats or imaginary dieties so if I told you the devil would take ggod care of you if you folowed his will and god was helpless would you hedge your bets then and do evil to avoid punuhment? maybe it's better for some of us to live natural lives as good people and not go to the imagination of others.
