I read a story about Pope John Paul II. It was about an incident that occurred in the 1940s.
When the Allied troops emancipated a concentration camp in the town where Carol Wajtyla (Pope John Paul) lived, he went out among the prisoners to offer aid. A young Jewish girl would not accept food or water from him (a Priest) because she was afraid he would try to convert her.
That story haunts me. What a world this is. A world that can build concentration camps. But also disturbing is that a young girl after suffering the horror of the camp could resist care because of such a fear.
I've never seen the Devil. I never saw Hitler. He died before I was born. I don't believe the Devil manifests himself in just one man. Evil is prevalent in society and it exists in all of us to some degree.

I know someone that did. Ruth Jordan, married to Author/Journalist Philip Jordan. Philip and her did the 36 Olympics. They almost got popped by the Gestapo. Philip got some photos of a Jewish Ghetto. Family rumor is she hid them in a hatband and the Gestapo took film of them at the Rivera with her son. In 38 he worked the Spanish Civil War with Ernest Hemingway. She was good buds with Mr. H's son and his 2 daughters. She was also friends with the Alsop brothers. Told us very many fascinating stories. She was my Grandmothers 1st cousin. Her son was a Quisling in Telemark.
My Dad did not meet him, he was with the 317th Infantry Regiment when they liberated Buchenwald in Apr 45 and saw the Devils work up close and personal.
If you play "I want to hold your hand" backwards next to a TV the Devil will appear on screen.
