My vet said it was fine to give table food as long as you give variety and balanced. We give our dogs vegetables, rice, meat, etc and everything, and he said that it was totally fine. Don't feed them pork, or chocolate, or any kind of candy. WE actually asked several veterinarians

yes those foods are fine I agree with others that you should check any other foods to make sure they are fine. When my dog isn't feeling well the vet said I could give him boiled chicken or ground beef and rice but he won't eat anything but the chicken. So sometimes I make extra scrambled eggs or extra grilled chicken and cut it up and put it in the fridge and if he is good most of the day he gets a big reward in his bowl. You are doing it right, also be careful to watch and make sure you dog insn't sensitive to the foods my dog loves steak but gets sick when he eats more than a small nibble of it so we don't feed him steak anymore But then again he gets sick when you feed him dog treats with a lot of the colored dies in them and.......well a lot of things most dogs don't get sick on.

there isnt a thing wrong health wise as far as giving a dog ppl food there isnt anything in ppl food that u cant find in dog food. and that answer about onions and garlic is plain bs. no matter what species or what the food is to much of anything or to little can cause harm. but the down side to giving a dog ppl food one its more expensive cause most dogs may get used to eating ur food. the only other bad thing is that if a dog only eats human food (which is softer) a dogs dental health or quality of its teeth could suffer. and although chocolate is not going to harm a dog or kill it. thats a myth. it can have the same effect as with humans give the dog the runs and make it fat

Dogs can digest practically any basic food that humans eat but giving them things like bread just adds calories to their dogfood diet and there are some foods like grapes and raisins that can be harmful. Give the bread to the birds and if you give things they will love like meat trimmings, gravy, etc, be sure to cut back on their regular food that day. Really, its best not to feed scraps because it unbalances their diet.

Chocolate is toxic to dogs. Brocolli is perfectly safe.
Carrots are fine.
Lettuce is okay-but not too much as it contains too much fibre and may give the dog loose motions
Pear skins&pear seed are toxic, flesh is okay.
Apple are fine, as long as the seeds are removed
Garlic&onions are toxic. Garlic is found in many natural dry dog foods&possible canned foods!
Cooked bones can splinter-Raw bones are fine. Cooked meat with no bones is fine, dogs need raw bones to keep there teeth clean and healthy!

there are tons of people that ONLY feed their dogs people food. If done properly - it is much healthier than the crap dog food that is sold in the grocery stores.
bread has no nutritional value & should not be fed.

As long as you're careful not to give them food that is harmful to dogs (grapes, chocolate, onions, and tomatoes are poisonous to them. Eggs cause aggression.), and as long as you give it to them purposely and they know it's bad to steal it, I don't think it's a terrible thing... In moderation.
You do have to be sure that they don't get so used to it that they start stealing people food, because then they could get something that's harmful to them. Besides, that's just annoying behavior.

Not food like m&ms!! They have chocolate on them... Most food we eat is crap anyway. Of course feeding them food free of salt/sugar/etc. is okay. My dogs LOVE when I make them eggs... but NO salt or anything to grease the pan. They also love unsalted peanut butter.

Chocolate, onions, garlic in large doses, grapes and raisins can kill dogs. People food fed in small amounts not spicy, greasy or seasoned will usually not hurt them. Mine get leftovers, like heels of bread, veggies, fruits, pizza and chinese food but in small amounts. As long as your dog doesn't have a sensative tummy it should not bother her, if fed in small amounts relative to her size.
