Yes, Zoloft can definitely make one feel apathetic. One thing that your doctor probably failed to mention was the huge list of side effects that Zoloft has. Some other side effects include memory loss, sexual dysfunction, hallucinations, mania etc. Many of these side effects can become permanent. For example, you can get permanent sexual dysfunction called Post SSRI Sexual Dysfunction. I recommend that you do not take Zoloft anymore and try as many non-drug therapies as possible. Zoloft, other SSRIs and pretty much all psychiatric / neurological types of medications cause permanent brain damage. You might want to check out The Antidepressant Fact Book by Peter Breggin or just do a lot of different Google searches about the side effects of Zoloft. SSRIs and other psychiatric drugs have ruined my life and I do not want to see your life ruined because of them. If you have any other questions about these drugs, please feel free to ask me.

After atleast 3 weeks on Zoloft - there's a delay between taking it and when it goes to work - you may find that your lows are not as low, and your highs are not as high.

Apathetic? Meaning what you care intensely about is of less intensity and does not matter nearly as much as before? Well, for OCD, that may just be the goal.

Yes. As far as I'm aware, any antidepressant can make you apathetic, and not all side effects have been discovered yet or proven. If it's particularly bad ((and you're talking about yourself / family member / friend)) you may want to get it checked out, because pretty extreme things have happened in circumstances like this.

Zoloft usually takes about 3 weeks before you feel any effect from it at all. It could be a symptom of whatever disorder you're taking it for....
