Do you think it's better to be a reserved and suspicious of people or to be naive and completely trusting and forgiving of everyone? I know they say that ignorance is bliss, but I feel like you have to be a little suspicious of people in order keep yourself from getting hurt. If there wasn't a middle of the road answer, which one would be better?

Guess what? You can be suspicious and STILL get hurt. Being suspicious doesn't protect you. However, my dad used to say, "The suckers have all the fun." I'd say it's better to be naive. However, if you have a history of picking the wrong people, then suspicious would probably work better for you.

Be suspicious until you feel you can trust them. But don't not trust them at all because then you will never get to the point where you can trust them. People are people and they can always be capable of hurting you. Being hurt is just a part of life sweetie.

i think that you should be naive until you have been hurt, deceived... etc and after that its time to be suspicious.
