the dentist gave me a teeth guard type thing for like my upper teeth, its a mouth piece type thing but just for the top ones, to put on so my top teeth dont grind against my bottom teeth, becuz he said i am wasting away my teeth, so this thing prevents it, but anyway, my question is is their a bowl type thing, or a combo of things i can buy, so i can just dip the piece in every single morning and leave it there rinsing till i put it on again in the night??? some kinda rinsing/cleaning system to keep it from getting bacteria n stuff?

thanks in advance

i am a dental assistant and unfortunately i suffer the same condition as you and i use the night guard. before sleep your teeth must be brushed so the bacterial count will be less. make sure to use Listerine or scooper before sleep this will reduce the possibility of bacterias in your night guard you can brush your night guard with a tooth brush and warm water every night before use it and in the mornings after take it out make sure to do this and don't worry this night guard will prevent your teeth from wear away and will also prevent you from have headaches. good luck!

Make sure to brush your night guard every day to prevent bacteria from building up on it. If your dentist provided you with a case for it, put listerine in the case or put listerine in a paper towell and wrap your night guard in it. Or you can try a denture cleaner that has an anti-bacterial agent in it.

Every morning you need to wash the Night Guard with Soap and water because it is less abrassive on the guard then tooth paste...Then about once a week you can use a denture soak like efferident to get rid of some of the discoloraton on your guard. You don't want to do that everyday because it is too abrasive to do that everyday.

HELLO,
YOU CAN SAFELY PLACE YOUR NIGHT GUARD IN DENTURE CLEANING TABLETS ONCE EVERY COUPLE OF DAYS TO GET RID OF THE BACTERIA THAT GET STUCK IN THE SMALL SPACES.
FOR EVERY DAY IT'S GOOD TO BRUSH THE MOUTH GUARD WITH A TOOTHBRUSH AND TOOTHPASTE TO ALSO KEEP IT CLEAN.
SOME COMMON DENTURE TABLETS ARE EFFERDENT OR POLIDENT. ANY ORDINARY SMALL PLASTIC KITCHEN BOWL THAT FITS YOUR APPLIANCE WILL WORK OR YOU CAN BUY A DENTURE STORAGE CASE AT ANY PHARMACY OR WALMART STORE.

I would either use a cotton swab and toothpaste to clean it each day or submerge it in hydrogen peroxide for a few minutes a day to kill germs, then use the toothpaste/swab weekly for a more thorough cleaning.
